• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2018 RT-L Chrome - FM Radio Reception

Just traded in my 2012 RT-S for a 2018 RT-L Chrome and noticed that the FM radio reception was, for lack of a better term, was crappy. It couldn't really get any local radio stations at all without static. I did notice that the antenna on the rear was a shorty type antenna. I am not sure if this is stock or aftermarket. Is the FM reception a known issue with this year RT-L or should I be looking for a possible disconnected plug or chaffed wire>

thanks in advance

Just a thought

.

Try removing the antenna and cleaning off any thread locking compound from the male and female threads. It has worked for others.

Make sure the flat ground (fat looking) wire is bolted under the seat. I’d unbolt it, brush and reattach.

:agree: with both other posters ... it has worked for some ..... I also swapped the OEM antennae for a Bosche manual collapseable Auto antennae. this also gave me lots more stations to choose from ..... the entire antennae housing will fit in the right speaker box ./...Mike

Do you have a link to the antenna you used?

I removed the old antenna and found the threads hooped with loctite. Ended up destroying the old antenna removing it though. Replaced the mast with a new one about 18” longer and problem solved.

I bought it 6 + years ago on E-bay ..... It was a Bosche brand ... black manually collapsible auto antennae. I'm sure there are lots of other sellers with the same product listed as replacement antennae's, for auto's ..... sorry best I can do ..... in order for it to fit inside the housing, I had to change the angler slightly .... my antennae goes thru the rear most portion of the factory armrest .... looks stock ..... My 2019 was this same. Very poor reception. I tried all the above plus an antenna booster. Ended up using pandora and bluetooth to my phone. It did get fixed when I traded for a 2021.
