• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Would appreciate if anyone could check on theirs the black panel that sits above the foot board hanger and below the painted psnel,on the left. On mine the right hand one is solid with no movement. The left one though at the back above the pillion board can be moved up and down and even pull, out a bit. The front of it is solid though. Before I visit my dealer on Saturday and complain, are they all the same.

A picture would help, but I'll give this a shot.

The black piece you're talking about fits behind (in front of) a tab that's on the tupperware piece. If it's not installed correctly, it'll be loose. There's also a tab on the chrome piece it sits on.

Have you taken this apart? If not, has the dealer? It sounds like it was put back together incorrectly. Should be an easy fix.

A picture would help.

Yours is three years newer than mine but my left panel is the same way -- tight at front but a bit loose at the back. Look at the diagram in your owner's manual, pg. 53; it's designed to float and the panel is held in place by two retaining screws at the front.

Thank you gents. JayBros is correct. My handbook is the same. I have stopped any movement with two small bits of Velcro.
Have yet to work out how to post pictures here but I'll get there.

That is normal. Reason being it is a carry over from the V-twin models. In 2010 it was solid like the right side meaning it was held on with 4 screws. Then later BRP came out with a mod to the panel (I believe about the same time as they changed the transmission filter on the SE5's). They did this so it made it easier to change the engine and/or the transmission filter. They changed out the panel and it is only held on with the front screw while the back basically has clips to hold the back in place.

It's the "New Normal" for this panel.
Probably about five years ago: they came out with an updated mounting method for that panel.
(It used to be nailed down tight!)
It was done to make servicing the bike easier and quicker.

I shall rest easy tonight then and not have a go at the dealer on Saturday.
