• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2015 Spyder RTS dies on way home

I was heading home from work when Spyder started acting weird. It seemed like transmission was going in and out of gear and the green gear indicator on the speedometer started flashing between reverse and neutral. Then the orange check engine light would come and go. It finally just died and wouldn't restart. I shut it off and after a while it restarted. It seems to be OK now, but I'm worried it will happen again. Any ideas or suggestions?

Sounds like Gear Position Sensor, search threads, someone has posted the warranty fix bulletin plus other info.

battery check also a good thought

you didn't have your toe touching the brake pedal? Spyders don't like that and have a hissy fit...

yep

yes that is what my 2015 RTS did with about 60 miles on it. It was the sensor recall and after the fix no problems. Have the dealer check your serial number and they should find yours is one of those affected,
Good luck.

I took Spyder to dealer 4-22 and he confirmed it was the gear position sensor. No part in stock and should take 3-4 days to get part and install. I called today 4-28 and part was backordered until 5-5. I emailed BRP and they informed me that it had been replaced prior to my purchase. That means the replacement has failed in less than 800 miles.

When I bought my 2015F3S the sensor was replaced with a new one, but like you, I had issues after several hundred miles. I took it to my dealer, who has a great mechanic, and he said the new sensor was
not properly introduced to the computer (different dealer). He fixed it within 20 minutes and have had no problems in 1000+ miles since.
