• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2015 RTS Frunk

I bought a new 2015 RTS and it does NOT come with the button to open the frunk like my 2011 RT Limited. Maybe that is an additional option but I do not have it. I have to open the frunk with my key.

Electronic frunk switch has been a mystery since 2014 models or so. Mine did not come equipped with one but it was shown as an option in the catalog. I tried to order through the 2014 catalog and was told discontinued and no longer available.

I perused the online catalog for 2015 and could find no mention of the switch.

It has been posted elsewhere this was due to a safety issue. Someone released the parking brake instead of opening the frunk. They reported it to NHTSA and that seems to be the end of the era.

I used and like(d) the frunk switches on both the 2010 and 2011. Have learned to live without on the 2014.

I had the frunk switch on my 2010. It only worked when the engine was running.
On the new Spyders, you can open up the frunk with the key without turning the engine off. Simply push the key down and turn it. I've found I can release the seat and get access to the gas tank, also with the engine on.
Gassing the Spyder with the engine running sounds like a bad idea to me.
