2015 RTL Headlights Won't Switch Between Hi-Beam & Low Beam

Synthetic

Any ideas why I can't change from Hi-Beams to Low-Beams on my headlights?
It used to make quite a racket when switching but now makes no noise and lights do not change...
Thanks for any help....

F-3 now has twin filament, but if yours has the SHUTTER I have a doubt both became STUCK at the same time !!!! so it could be the switch has failed ......it's under warranty .....and Pitbull is just down the road .......Mike

I checked fuses 5, 6 and 7 on right side fuse box and all were fine.

I'd say it has the shutter set up as it sounds like a shutter when operated....at least it used to.

Are you stuck on high beams? Then the shutter is stuck open. Usually one side will go wonky and the other side will still operate normally.

I did just replace the headlights and fog lights with TricLed LED's.....but I'd think just changing out the bulbs for LED's would not cause this to happen...

I don't think so....I counted them and made sure they were snapped in connection.
It's easy enough to knock something loose.
At least I have a long list of stuff that I have.
I don't remember if the shutter is operated by a separate connector but it might be worth a looksee again.

I assume it would be a bad connection in the headlights and not fog lights which would be easier to check...I'll probably take it back apart tomorrow and make sure everything is well connected...thanks

You did install the Positive and negative on the lights correctly?? Because they will not work if inverted.
I found mine had to be reversed even tho the connector was installed correctly

:agree: ....WITH POSTERS on #14 & #15......( I didn't know you switched to LED's :banghead::banghead::banghead: )......both are common issues with that swap........Mike :thumbup:

I put black to black wires....the Spyder's terminals were reversed.....I did put the LED drivers and wires inside of the door so I may have blocked the shutter mechanism....did not know there was a shutter mechanism and did not know I had to make sure the drivers and wires did not block the shutters...I am guessing you are correct and that is the problem...will check out the links and start taking Spyder back apart again..
Thanks for everyones help...

also if you have not done this already remove the led cover on the bulb..Mine had the blue cover. I think the newer kits they ship will be without the light covers..
Yep the lights will not work if the polarity is reversed..Ask me how I know..

Shutter blockage would be my guess as that was my problem when I tried to stuff everything under the cover. I ended up doing it the same way as Lamont, but I notched the covers and not the housing thinking that if I had to go back to stock (Like trading in) I could just swap them.

Yea, I also bet it's shutter blockage. Since the harness comes up on that side its almost natural to want to stuff it in on that side where there is more room. With enough patience you can get the driver box and connector down the side like the directions show. The connector is the harder part, but you can get it down there past the silver ring. I actually tested mine and watched the shutter before I put the cover back on and it all works and no cuts. Lamonsters LED looks like it has a larger driver box so it may not actually fit in there.
