• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2015 RTL BRAKE FAILURE - THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE BRP

I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE THIS. I can't get this cleared. brake Failure - Low Fluid. 1,450 miles on this machine. Had it in the dealers late last summer and the fix lasted 30 miles. Tried procedures listed here & no success. Have added fluid multiple times with no success. Yesterday I tried everything again multiple times with no success. Now I think I have her overfilled with fluid. I have a PGR event at 8.15AM this morning which will make the 3rd one I will miss because of this. BRP give me my money back and get this thing out of my garage as it is wasting space being parked there.

TYPO IT IS A 2014

It is actually a 2014 RTL that I purchased in 2015 new. My anger over this is causing me to type poorly which is bad as I normally type poorly.

The obvious answer is let it be repaired by the dealer under warranty.

However seeing you need to ride...have you filled the reservoir to the point where the filler cap neck goes upward and seen if the light goes out?

Our 14 is filled 100% and maybe slightly more.

All the best with it.

Do you have fluid around the caps? Are the caps in the right position?
the reason I ask is if the raised part of the cap could be at 12 o'clock
if you I looking sight down.

Grumpy, I hope that you have cleaned the reservoirs and caps before opening them and adding more fluid. Can you see the level or are you just adding more fluid? If the level is dropping you need to have your dealer look for a leak and if you are just adding more because you are grumpy you need to stop. :banghead:

If the dealer cant help contact Steve at BRPCARE on this site he maybe able to help you out.

Hang in there

The Spyder is a lot of fun.

Brake Failure

On my 2015 RTL I just learned that my Brake Failure screen came on because of bad sensor on fluid reservoir

Thanks for all of the replies. Yes I added DOT4 fluid to the proper level. See the MIN MAX level indicators on the fluid res. My dealer had it last fall & we thought it was all set. I did overfill it this afternoon & made 3 miles before errors came back. I have kept constant watch at the levels to make sure there is not a leak. Plan to get it back to the dealer next week to have it rechecked. If it is a sensor it is intermittent, need to get that checked again.

This is really getting to me as I will not let Nan on it or any other bike, if they have steering or brake problems. This really stinks!!!

Curious. ....

Does the 15 brake failure light indicate "low fluid" ?? cause most only indicate brake failure and it come from a bunch of places... If it is fluid related and regardless of the fluid level it indicates failure it has to be the sensors. But burned brake light bulbs will do this sticking brakelight switch or resting your foot on the pedal or low brake pads etc.:dontknow:

No it did not say low fluid Just Brake failure

Then it may not be a fluid situation. A check of other reasons as I mentioned should be done. Brake pads in your case would not be it. The most common has been resting your foot on the brake pedal. Easy to do on unfamiliar roads with twist and turns especially going downhill. Sticking brake light switch has been another. Sensors going bad are not so common but checking connections and levels they seem to have done. Let us know what they or you find to be the cause....

So will old fluid that has water in it and become compressible. And very small leaks. Pull the codes and post here and we can help you figure this out.

I understand that resting foot on brake pedal will cause problems but my feet were on the highway pegs so could not have been on pedal.
