2015 RT - S or Limited trying to decide

I am looking for some advice: Last year I bought a 2011 RT, beautiful shape, quite a few miles, to test the waters and see if the Spyder was a match for me.... is it EVER!!! I LOVE IT!!!! I am looking at trading it in on a 2015, trying to decide between an S and Limited.
It looks like, to get the mods that I want, it is going to be cheaper to buy the Limited, instead of paying extra for the mods on the S.
Any thought? If you have a 15, how do you like? Any advice that you can give me would be appreciated.
BTW, I retired last year and the hubs and I are going to be doing some serious trips and I need the comfort, etc. He rides a Kaw Voyager.

Thanks!!!!

Unless you like chrome...

buy the "S" and save a few bucks.

I have a 2014 RT Limited and my wife just picked up her 2014 RT-S yesterday. The big differences is the GPS, additional chrome and the shelf in the trunk. The frunk suitcase, too.

It easy and less costly to install the GPS on the S and the bike is just as nice.

Good luck with your decision.

:agree: i went for the RTS SPCL in blk/red, due to lack of chrome, and the short windshield.
i'll add the gps when my ship comes in
:roflblack:

It pretty much depends on your personal tastes...
The Limited will have bright chrome, while the S has either satin chrome or black finishing touches.
If you don't feel the need for the GPS or the luggage; pick the bike that looks the best to you!

And Happy Hunting!! :D

I have a 2013 RTS because I can use my phone as a GPS( Google Maps) with the directions bluetoothed to my helmet and I'm just not that big on all the chrome. Also I can pack more in the space I have without the luggage taking up more room and I save a few thousand bucks. So, thats why we made the decision we did.

While my Spyder is a '14 RT-S, there's no appreciable difference between the model years except color. I'm also in the no chrome camp, just a personal preference. The brushed pewter metal work is about as far as I wanted to go and it looks good with the Cognac color. Oh, and brake dust doesn't show as readily on the black wheels. YMMV.

Unless you are stuck on one of the new colors look for a deal on a leftover 14.
:agree:The differences are not worth paying full price for a 15 when you can get a better deal on a 14. A friend of mine just bought a 15 and got 3 years warrenty with it. With the additional 2 that was added in September, I got 4 years total on my 14. We got the same bike, but I got a better deal and an extra year of warrenty:ohyea:.

Save thousands of $$$$ get the 2014 or 2015 RT-S. To me the limited is a waste of money. Fancy wheels, chrome don't make it run any better. When its time to trade the limited wiil have depreciated a lot more. Its your decision. Have fun shopping!:yikes:

One mans opinion. Go for the Limited, life is short and all the extras are well worth it. Ask anyone who has a limited!

Choices choices..!!

Not much help, always two sides and your stuck in the middle wavering...:banghead: there is the money vs the goodies. What I do know is what ever you pick will be the best deal and decor for you. If not it will grow on you. The less bells and whistles will allow you to add only those you really want and the savings will more than cover that. If you get a lesser modle and then dress it up to be the ritzy one, that will drain you dry. Good luck and have fun with it...

Still thinking

It looks to me, like this, the price of the S WITH the additional things I want on it right away... GPS, etc. will bring it up to the price of the Limited right away, anyway.
AND, I like that RED!! My 2011 is Viper Red!
Thanks for your input.. keep it coming!!!!
The weather is getting warmer in PA and I am getting itchy to ride!! :ohyea:

I agree with Copperman, go for the RTS

I will be picking up my new 2015 pearl white RT Ltd tomorrow. I traded in my 2012 red RT-S with 23,000 km on it. I priced out a 2014 RT Ltd at a different dealer because I thought I could get a better deal but the dealer for the 2014 was allowing me over $2000 less for my bike and was charging $995 for a setup fee which the other dealer was not adding on. So in the end I was way better off having the 2015. Hoping for nice weather tomorrow so I can ride her home instead of trailering her home.

All very good advice above. There are almost to many choices. :dontknow: A good problem to have.

If you want a Garmin and a lot of real chrome, the LTD is the way to go.

The "specials" are very nice and the color combos stand out nicely.

The S version has always been my choice. Pretty much all the doo dads but no Garmin. I'm a guy and never get lost--so don't need it. :roflblack::roflblack: The satin fake chrome works for me. I hate to polish the real stuff.

Have had 2 "S" versions and one A & C (now base) version. The 2010 RT-S was the top of the line when it first came out in "Premier Edition." I had #474.

There are still some good buys on 2014's if you can find them. You might have to be a bit less picky on color choice. If color is a big deal, get what you want and avoid the V-8 syndrome. "Wow, I coulda, hadda V-8" :roflblack:

Have a great hunt and let us know what you decide. Pictures requested of course.

DECISIONS,DECISIONS.........!

I've got a bad habit when it comes to buying vehicles(recreational and everyday drivers) that I will opt for the fully loaded versions just to have the bells and whistles due to the fact that if I do trade them in,the dealers will usually give me more money for them. But if you are buying them for an investment, good luck w/making money on the deal. My dealer sold us a brand new 2014 RTL for $28,00.00 then gave us $3,000.00 worth of accessories/labor/warranty thrown in on the deal. So I guess it's up to the dealer(how much he needs to make) and what catches your eye and holds it there the longest because you have got to feel like it's a WIN/WIN situation. The dealer needs to make some money and you have to be happy with your choice for years to come. Good Luck!!

instead of buying the RT-S ... go ahead and buy the Limited... if you shop around.. should be able to get a deal on a '14 model.. especially if you are willing to travel to pick it up..
