• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2015 F3 versus 2016 F3

Good morning, all.

Aaron here. Not new to riding but have never ventured out on a trike. The time has come, however, to change that. I have sold my Harley Street Bob and am looking at the Spyders. I have looked at, and pondered the purchase of, Spyders for several years. The concept is fabulous and the trike simply looks great. I have decided the F3 or F3-S is what I want to purchase. One of the dealers here in West Virginia has two 2015 leftover F3s on which I believe good deals can be had. My question is, we're there any changes made on the F3 between '15 and '16 MYs?

Take care.
Aaron

I think just paint. maybe something else minor, but you decide where your money goes. Good luck and welcome in advance.

If you can get it at a good price there not enough change to pay the extra for a 16 but get the S because the CRUISE is worth the extra $$$

Actually if cruise is the only part of the S package you really want, adding cruise to a base model is MUCH cheaper. Also a base is the only way to get a GLOSS black frame and a-arms which are much easier to keep looking nice and look better with some color options.

There is no 'right' answer, too many combos.

The 2016 should have the updated rear shock, also known on 'occassional 2 up shock', plus all the recalls already integrated. Other than that, much the same I think.

If you particularly wanted the new sport mode (disables all the traction control) you could wait for the 17 MY.

I never realised that. Unfortunately the base is not available as an SE6 in europe. Manual only.

Odd, the base model is available with either transmission in the US. Perhaps its the higher proportion of manual trans bikes they sell in europe. I know on the RT for 17, the SM is now a base model only option. If you want an RT-S or Limited its SE only.

This time, an easy decision IMO. I am thinking it comes down to paint and dollars. Buy the one that floats your boat.

You are right about the cruise. $194.00 for the RH control is a lot less than the cost of the S. Never thought that I would like a white :spyder2: but the black frame and other black parts set it off.

I recently picked up a 2015 white/red F3-S. for ME, the colors were more appealing in 2015 than 2016. And I saved several thousand dollars that way. The machines are basically the same for these model years, so I went with the color scheme I preferred more. I would do the same if I were you.

Good morning, all.

Thank you you very much for the thoughts and information. The wife and I were able to stop by the dealership on our way back from Tennessee. While the thought of saving on a '15 is appealing, I just didn't get a good vibe from the dealership or the saleswoman. There's another, smaller, dealership closer to me that caters more to watercraft and off-road, but do stock a few Spyders. They don't have any leftovers but do have a triple black special edition. I think I'm going to talk to them tomorrow and see what they might be able to offer.

Thank you again. Have a great day.
Aaron

Hello I have a 2016 FT3 and no it doesnt have the same back suspension as the 2015 . Also the back end has now a swing arm so you can pull a trailer. I would not pull a trailer with the 2015... just my opinion...
