There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2014 ST Troubles

Hello. I bought a 2014 ST in 2016. It had been sitting in the showroom with no buyers. So far it took awhile to find and fix an oil leak. Then the wiring was rubbing on the frame causing it to shut down when I turned right. Now I am getting all kinds of codes because the display lens was forced open by the frame mounts on the bottom right hand corner.
I was just wondering if I should get rid of it because it is seems like a lemon or if other people have had bugs to work out after buying new.
I really like my bike and want to keep it but every time I take it in for servicing because I am going on a road trip I have to turn around and come home because something is wrong. It was not fixed properly even though I have been specific in what is wrong with the machine.
Thanks for your input on if I should keep it or sell it.

Julie is there another dealer that you can take your Spyder to? Maybe new eyes could be of help. If you sell your Spyder or trade it for another ST, the newer one would be used and BRP is not making the 998 engine anymore. You would also have to decide if you like the F3 or the RT configuration. My first Spyder was a 2013 STS and I loved it. But when the F3's came out in 2015 I was sold after my demo ride. I still own the 2015 F3-S and now have 52,000 miles on it. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Thanks for the input. I live on Northern Vancouver Island as I have to drive 2 hours to the dealership. I will look and see hopefully I won't have to take a ferry to find another dealership!

Several items don't pass the smell test. Did you purchase the Spyder as new? Might it have been a demo bike? What was the mileage on the odometer when you bought it? How soon after purchase did the oil leak appear, both time and mileage-wise? What was the cause of the oil leak? Wiring rubbing on the frame is an indication of poor initial assembly at the factory or ham-handed maintenance somewhere along the line. Frame mounts damaging the display lens is more of the same. What have you reported to the dealership as unsatisfactory work that they did not go back and correct? How many miles on the Spyder now? Is it possible the bike might be a demo that was in an accident, repaired and sold to you as a "great deal" to get it off the floor? Of course, the dealership isn't going to tell you that.

You have the newer ST with the improved airflow side panels.
You need a new dealer or a better mechanic.

I have a 2013 STS that has been flawless for 20,000 miles.
Great machine for 1 up touring.
The 998 motor is bulletproof and well tested.
Only issue was turn signals not cancelling correctly.
Dealer replaced the left handlebar control under warrantee and no problems since.
