First fill up I got 29.6 mpg running around town. This is better than the 2013 sts by 2.6 mpg.

you should get much better. Depends on the time on the engine...open road you will get up to the 40's...:thumbup:

We averaged almost 34 mpg on a 3 week trip last summer ,two up pulling a trailer. Your mileage will get better as you break it in.

I'm getting about 37 on my 2014 with the 1330 engine. Not the 40mpg that others claim, but far better than my 2010 with the 998 engine.
I know it will get better with age, I've only got 2700 miles on it.
I've also read that running with the ECO mode turned on helps gas mileage.
I've tried it briefly and found it distracting watching for that green arrow that tells me when to shift. A person could get killed paying too much attention to that stupid green arrow.
However, I've read on the forum that the ECO mode changes throttle response. That might increase gas mileage all unto itself and could easily be valuable.
I'll try running in ECO mode this season for a substantial period of time. Maybe the Spyder Clutter in New Holland, and see if it makes a difference.

I have only had the spyder for a couple of weeks. I expect milage to get better with time.

I rode 184 miles today in Va. and WV . Filled up at same station before and after. Took 4.51 gallons. Figures out to 40.7 mpg.
I have 2600 miles on my '14 RT and had my first service last week.

2014 RT mileage

I now have 7500 + miles and am avg'ing 39-40 MPG...........this didn't occur until about 3000 miles ............I also now use full syn Rotella T-6. ...Mike :thumbup:

I fill the tank slowly until it starts to puddle in the filler cap and enter the number into my iPhone app!

It's easy... I record every fill-up. :thumbup:
Over the years; I've just gotten used to a very specific routine, as to when to stop pumping. Then; I just write down the miles travelled, and the amount of fuel that the tank swallows up...

Zero out my A meter at each fill. Fill to the same level each time. For me, very slow as the fuel approaches the top of the fill cap. It will settle back down a bit.

Take miles (I usually round to nearest mile) (143.3 would be 143) divided by gallons. I usually round gallons to 1 decimal (5.634 would be 5.6).

I do this pretty much every fill up (unless there are more than one in a day). I don't keep a spreadsheet or a written record--I just do the calculations most of the time to know where I am at--for the heck or it. It's the accountant in me. :roflblack:

Measuring out to 4 and 5 decimals is overkill and indicates more accuracy than you will obtain in reality. The above computation (made up) would come out to 25.53571428. I would call the whole thing 26 mpg and be done with it. Close enough for tank to tank comparison.

Excel spreadsheet, every fill up. Spreadsheet calculates individual tank mpg and cumulative mpg since first fill up.
