• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 RT SE6 Shift Points

I can't find the thread where someone was asking about the SE6 Shift Points. I have found this information:

1st to 2nd: Shift at 1800 rpm
2nd to 3rd: Shift at 1950 rpm
3rd to 4th: Shift at 2200 rpm
4th to 5th: Shift at 2200 rpm
5th to 6th: Shift at 2200 rpm

This is where the ECO mode tells you to shift at. I am curious to see where the "green" zone for rpm's are in B.U.D.S. for the 2014's. I know with the 998 the "green" zone is from 3999 rpm to 6999 rpm.

Your information is the same that I have also seen to date.

Bob, if I remember right you already shift at these points except for 5th to 6th.. :roflblack: well...... you did.

I was low and slow on the tachometer until I learned a bit about toasting clutch plates...
I moved it up to shifting at about 4800 to 5200 rpm...

To me, the really great thing about the triple is that it has more torque at 2000 RPM than the 998 cc engine has at any RPM.

I am guessing it will feel a lot like reving up a big bore cruiser. I believe the shift range was 2300 or so on my Vulcan 2000. They did not come with a tach though.

So Bob: you did come around to the higher shifting points. Last I heard, you were up to 4500 or so. Good for you. Now you will have to "unlearn" the bad habit. :roflblack:

It will be a new learning curve for all that give the RT a try.

I learned a lot from my Grampa Denman when it came to engines...
He always had a Case 580 Backhoe, and he did "a little digging for some folks" with it.
I never heard hinm take it up past a fast idle... yet he did more in an hour with it, than most folks could do in a day... nojoke
He rarely took a tooth off of a bucket, NEVER had to make an extra swing or adjustment to where he was putting anything...
The smartest and wisest man that I've ever known...
And I miss him every day!
