2014 RT maintenance. Smoke and mirrors?

I like the specs on the 2014 RT, but will the maintenance costs be less for most of us who ride 5000 miles or less per year? Beside mileage there is usually a time limit for most maintenance items and BRP has only increased the mileage as far as I can tell. Not having to do a valve adjustment is great, but are oil changes still going to cost $300? The Spyder needs to be simpler to maintain in terms of manhours. Dealers aren't going to lose much money with the 2014's on maintenance profits. Keeping my 2013 RT for now.

If you're paying $300 for an oil change... you're getting hosed.

Most dealers do them for around $120-150.

I do mine myself....for around $50.

You should still change your oil at least once a year regardless of the miles.

I use Amsoil or Valvoline Motorcycle oil and BRP filters (2); cost about $65. I believe you can get the BRP kit for around $67.

If you can afford $20,000-plus for a bike...
I'd graciously accept whatever the savings are!
