• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 RT Limited / Thoughts, Reviews and Opinions

2014 RT negative comments

Getting some great reviews and input. Anybody have anything negative or a little less than a dream machine. Looks like I may have to talk to my accountant. Hope she is in a good mood.

the only problem I have with my 2014 RT is that I never stop ridding long enough to wash it [It should be self cleaning]:roflblack:
I love the bike and it runs great

YEP

STILL can't see the value in a LTD over the base tho.... but that's just the tightwad in me....
:agree:...I'm handy so I have added every thing the LTD had plus a bunch of things that arn't even offered ......and all for $ 300 or so :yes::yes::yes:....Mike

I have one of each of the aforementioned :spyder2:'s. My 2011 is an RT A&C model. I added seal floorboards. We have almost 17K miles on it and have experienced no problems.

The 2014 RT is a whole different machine. I have 10K miles on mine since Apr 30th and I like it even more than the 2011. The ACE 1330 triple is the best.

12K on my '14RTS since July 2nd and only problem was premature rear tire wear. Put a Michelin on it 6K ago and it is showing no wear at all. Got the sway bar and the bump skid. Made some Hi-way bars and spring isolators. You will be very pleased with this excellent bike!

SpyderAnn has about 30k on hers, since the end of February. We call it the GTO. (GAS,TIRES,OIL). Yes, we aligned it. Yes, it has a BajaRon Swaybar. She has most farkles available. But the thing rocks! Skip to the end, get the 14. Much better machine, all around. JMHO, Joe

Test Drive

Went to the dealer and test drove a 2014 RTL yesterday. Didn't turn my crank as much as I was expecting. It was nice but I guess I'm really use to my 2011 and all the extras I've added to it to improve the ride and performance. Guess we will see if mine keeps giving me trouble with the brakes. If so it won't brake my heart to go to the 2014 and start over with tweaking it to my specs

Thanks for all the information sharing. That's what I love about his Forum.

Compelled to respond

I have a 2011 RT Limited that I have just loved but I am starting to have some problems with ever since I had floor boards installed. About ready to say the heck with it and pull the trigger on either a new Spyder or a Tri-Glide. Looking for opinions, thoughts and reviews on the 2014 RT Limited. Got one for sale on clearance at my local dealer. They have been good to work with but they are frustrated with the problems I'm having as well. They are doing all they can and working hard to remedy the problem but maybe its just time to trade it in and move on. Any issue with the new engine and transmission that anyone knows of? Other issues with the 2014?

I bought my RTL about 6 weeks ago. I have not been on a motorcycle of any kind for over 30 years. On my ride home from the dealer (about 12 miles on the freeway) I was concerned that I had just plunked down 30k on a whim. It was misting rain and I was petrified. The Spyder was all over the road. Talk about twitchy. I finally got home and said a prayer of thanks. The next day, based on input from this forum, I check the tire pressures. The rear was at 30 pounds. The right front was at 30 and the left was at 25. I set both fronts to 20 psi and went for a "dry" ride. Long story short, I was, and am still, in love with the "big dawg". I have since put over 750 miles on the Spyder and have not smiling :yes::yes:

Thanks

Thanks for all the information. I'll let everyone know who the repair goes and whether or not I pull the trigger on a new 2014.
