• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 rt limited antenna or lack there of...

Hello fellow experts... I had the unfortuunate pleasure of breaking my antenna on my rt. I am not sure if it was too cold to bend or if it was aa defect. however, I need to replace it with an original or I think i read in a post of someone using a shortie. I use my i-pod 99 percent but it is needed for a radio the other 1 percent.

Oh! you are going to get all kinds of responses. This is what I did when mine snapped off from putting my half cover on. Got a socket around the copper antenna part that screws into the base and removed it. Took a drill removed the inside antenna stuff except the copper coil. Went to hardware store bought 2 part fiberglass epoxy. Shaved down the antenna end to a point and epoxy it back in the antenna base. hope this helps.

ANTENNA'S

Yes lots of choices out there and most have been reported to be better than stock and lots less expensive. I even saw a shorty Toyota Ant. ( E-Bay ) very similar to the the one on my Tacoma ......about 10 inches it has a wire wrapped around it from the base up......I get incredible reception from my radio in my Tacome so I may try it .....Mike

WalMart has a shorty that will work. Cost is right around $10.00. If you have to pay for a replacement of the OEM it is about $75.00.

Ask about warranty, maybe your dealer can help.

I went with the flexible shortie from Wally World for a whopping $10. Screwed right on and the reception is fine. Love not having to worry about it if I do put on a cover.

I got a shorty from Spyderpops, it is retractable and looks very nice on my RTS, and it does a decent job, i think it was somewhere around $22.00

I believe that samewok also has this same antenna.
