• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 RSS SM5 no clutch resistance

I have a 2014 RSS SM5 With no clutch resistance. When I pull to shift out of neutral there is nothing there and I cannot shift from neutral. Bike has sat in garage for 1 month but no fluid leaks noticed. I let the bike warm up in neutral but still nothing on the clutch level.

Any ideas?

Little checking.....

For starters...check the fluid level by removing the cap ( put rags around to protect painted parts ). It may be empty or low so add fluid. Once you have done that bleed the slave cylinder (while your there pull the little black cover and check for leaks) you may also have to bleed the brake calipers as well. If this is a bit much you may have to see the dealer...:gaah:

The little black cover mine was leaking but no drips. If you see this you will need to replace the o rings on the piston...sorry the pics are sideways...:banghead:

Dunno about bleeding brakes as well Cupcake? :hun: But OP may well need a special tool to undo that nut if the slave cyl is leaking - to be done strictly by the book or you will have a bigger problem.

No special tools....

But you do have to hold the center allen when loosening the nut. If not you will damage the diaphram that operates the vaccum assit to the clutch. I do recommend a shop manual whenever going into the spyder beyond oil changes etc....
