• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 RSS SE5 won't start

Hey guys I bought. 2014 spyder RSS SE5 a month ago, has 7700 miles took it to work last Monday and it stalled out at three red lights and then wouldn't restart. Put the tender on it overnight, started then stalled. Now won't start at all. Replaced relay, added fuel injector cleaner and dry gas, still nothing. Help please I know nothing about mechanics and am lost.

Take the battery and have it LOAD TESTED!!! Start there, then all connections clean and tight, then tell us how things work!! Good luck

Actually a friend of mine had the same problem (kill switch) we played around with it and it didn't seem to matter. I'll try taking it apart when I get home

How many volts does your battery show? What does the voltage drop to when you try to start the Spyder? These are the things to find out
before you try anything else. Lights, horn, radio can all work, but the voltage can be too low to start it. Get out the ol' VOM and check it out.

If you know the battery voltage is good, and your alternator is doing its job producing enough voltage to keep the battery charged, and the bike
won't turn over, then it's time to start looking at stop switches, like the Kill switch, or any other switch that will keep the starter from engaging
when the button is pushed.

When it "stalled" at the light, did it just die while idling, or when you attempted to start moving again, or perhaps when you put it in gear.

First time idling at light, restarted and then stalled when I put it in gear, last time idling at another light

Mine had similar stalls thanks to bad purge valve:sour::gaah::banghead: most aggravating & almost random, would not be every stop sometimes just <5 ~10mph parking lot speeds more often on off ramps as SE got to second or first gear just yielding & would stall :cus: apparently over filled the tank & between sloshing & or not so steep parking garage uphill downhill was enough. Usually would crank right back up though sometimes the push mode screen would show up while at speed:dontknow::p
