• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 Leak

BRP should do a deal with Honda and put in their tried and true 1300cc V4 motor - smooth, quiet, gobs of power and useable torque. .. or the Aprilia Rotax V4 - a screaming superbike motor. Just don't make it a big jugged V-twin that puts out more noise and heat but doesn't rev.

If they do come out with a complete remake of the spyder, ill give it 2-3 years before I trade in for it....sucks when you buy a great machine...and the next year they come up with something that blows it out of the water!!! Besides, my plate's gonna be kind of full for the next couple of years.

Since these threads are a broken record, *I* will be a broken record: I'll believe a bigger engine when I see it.

After last year's redesigns, I think BRP will take another 2-3 years off to fine-tune before they make the next big tech introduction. That appears to be their pattern, after all.

Speed is okay, but I would rather see a model that would allow me to stretch my legs forward and sit a little more "Ghetto Slouch". Kinda like a honda shadow.

Just sayin'............

I would seriously consider going for a 1300 if done correctly. I know I've been hearing things from my dealer, though they haven't given a year yet. We'll see.

If they come out with a motor like what was in my Yamaha V Star 1300T (the two wheeler I traded for my Spyder) I'd be VERY interested.

Everybody seems to want to be able to run with the foxes AND howl with the hounds...
Bigger engine
more power
smoother
better fuel economy
less heat...
A lot of these worthy goals almost work against each other... :gaah:
It's all about the balance...

Not really, my GL1800 has tons of torque, is smooth, is quiet, gets great gas mileage, has an 1832cc 6 cylinder motor and has no heat problems... oh and it has a freaking loud horn that will get your attention. I still love my Spyder too.
