• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Its time for my first oil / transmission change. The numbers that I have sourced up are for KN filters.
KN-564 / oil filter and KN-559 for the transmission.
Do these numbers match what everyone else has done ?
I bought her this summer, she's a great machine and the dealer isn't getting their sticky fingers on her at all..
If anyone has any better options please , by all means let me know.
I am new to this wonderful machine and I prefer to keep all maintenance , if possible , at home.
Thanks everyone for their help.
Mike

Congrats on the new ST Mike.

Contact BajaRon (one of the vendor sponsors here.) He will set you up with a complete kit (oil too if you like.)

I just ordered two kits from Ron for my ST-S SE5. Great customer service, and fast shipping.

K&N oil filters made by Hi Flo does not make a transmission filter that fits your Spyder. Only the original short version. Only current long version filter available that I know of is from BRP.

Get the kit. Oil, o-rings, crush washers and oil all in one box.

Not
true. K&N quit making the short trans filter and now only makes the current longer one. They have been selling them for well over a year now. Same number as its the same application. KN-559

Welcome....

Welcome to the site... all of the above :agree: I do get the BRP kits online from Ebay. Comes with all you need but BajaRon has a great line with the Amsoil and can put together all you will need. Congrants on the new ryde...:2thumbs:

As mentioned previously, K&N does make the extended trans filter. The confusion comes in that K&N retained the old part number (559) which is the same part number for the original, shorter filter. I also carry the K&N filters. I just have not gotten around to posting them.

Well isn't that confusing. You would think that they would change the part numbers when the change is big enough not to fit. :banghead::banghead:
