• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. For all of you folks that did not wait for the 2013 RT Ltd and went ahead and got a 2012, hooray for you, good move, you got (in my opinion) a better looking bike and saved some money also, i got to see a 2013 today and i prefer the 2012.

What is different other than the front fenders?

Tire size, floorboards that seemed unsteady to me, and i really dont like the new fenders

My 2 cents

Even with the modifications and upgrades to the New Spyder 2013 RT Limited I prefer my 2012 over it, its the overall styling that's keeping me happy. I'll wait till the next major model change before jumping on the band wagon, in the next few years. I will however upgrade before both of my warranty's are up, I always want the Spyder to be covered which will keep me covered for any surprises down the road.:ohyea:

I bought a 2012 RT-S for the added warrentee that was offered last summer. The new 2013's have a few features than I really like. For instance the strengthend frame and Brembo brakes though to be honest the old brakes work fine for me. I don't like the new thinner tires as I am worried that the rims may take more abuse on rough roads and the new fenders look like an afterthought. I have warrentee coverage for the next four years so I will likely either keep the present bike for a long time or trade up in three years if BRP comes out with, a bigger engine and a six speed with overdrive. Although I may be tempted by the Electic Hybrid model!

Likewise, like Ann, I have not had the chance to see a 2013 either.

I purchased a new 2011 A & C RT last summer, when I determined I would have to get off of two wheels. I was in a quandry to wait for the 2013's or not. I saved a few thousand by going with the year old, brand new 2011 and we are very happy with it. Put over 5000 miles on it between July and October of 2012. For me it was the money and the "I can have it now" factor.

The 2013 is an improvement mechanically over the previous models. I even like the new colors they are offering--the yellow and the black currant. The prices did creep on the the 2013's so that is a consideration if the checkbook is tight.

It boils down to what you want or what you will be happy with IMO.

I saw 2 2013's today. Excluding the frame, you can "upgrade" to the rest of the new features. The fenders I like more now after seeing them(excluding the 700.00 price tag), of course the lighting on the fenders were just reflectors which is ridiculous IMO. Maybe it was just the model i saw, not sure if some models are wired for function and safety...but why not BRP?

The pearl yellow is pretty nice also.

I did quick "look and sit" on 2013 RT and a ST. Not sure model levels. I have no real intention of buying a new one this year. The RT seating position did not seem to different then then my 2010 RT, except for the floorboards. I do not care for them, but I have not ridden with floor boards for many years. The ST, with different floorboards felt just great, overall. I think it looks good, except for the fenders. After thought to gain side lights ? Difference in wheels, not sure. If the ST had been around when I got mine, I would have purchased it. I ride almost all solo, but would have to look at the seat before getting to ride 2UP. Just my thoughts.Oldmanzues.

I can only compare to the 2010 in that was what I had. My 2013 RT-S is much much smoother because of the new motor mount locations. There's a lot less vibration. The actual ride is also far superior because of the new suspension.

The floorboards are strong enough to handle the Jolly Green Giant. The slight downward angle and the plush surface of the floorboard is elusive and leads one to believe that it is not supportive. That just isn't the case at all.

The only thing that I would have preferred was a choice in shock settings. That isn't available with the 2013 RT-S. The setting is just right for me. My height, 6', and weight, 195, seems to be just the right fit. Again, though I'd like to have choices.

I'm going to keep an eye on the front tire wear. I got 21,000 out of my 2010 RT-S. I'm expecting the same from these.

Although I don't bellieve I have enough miles (1,020) to make an accurate determination, the gas mileage at this point has been less than what my 2010, "manual" was. I was getting between 29-31 MPG. On my 2013 RT-S "semiauto" I'm getting only 25.

Hope this helps.

Chris
PS: I'm glad I waited, although I didn't have a choice for about 6 months.

Speaking of the yellow. I talked with my dealer today and am going to find out what it will take to make my 2010 RT-S the new yellow color.
