There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2013 RT

Hi all....

I've looked at Spyder RT Limiteds since 2010...drooled for one but always had the same problem: my right foot is a size 13 and it was always uncomfortable for me just 45 second after sitting down. Didn't feel like swapping out the seat. Didn't want to play around with aftermarket things. I just wanted to sit in the Spyder and fit.

So I never bought one. And I admit that back in 2010 and then 11 I was concerned about check engine light issues because we encountered it on our test drive and then watched as it took the dealer weeks to get the part.

Not a good sign.

Got really close to buying a 2012 last year. THISCLOSE. Walked in with a certified check. Was ready. Sat on it. Knee ached. Never bought it.

And I have been very preoccupied this year with other endeavors but I happened to just see that the dealers are clearing out the 2013 models with some killer deals so here are my questions and you guys have always come through in the past so I appreciate your answers in advance...

Did the 2013 geometry change on the RT Limited along with the adjustable handlebars result in taller riders (I'm 6'3 ) getting more comfortable? In other words, can I sit 2 inches further back and give my foot and knee a break?

Will the fact that I lost 30 lbs since last year (smaller ass folks!) help?

I WANT the blackcurrant limited. I want that bad boy. But I want the limited seat and I don't want to offset a great price with aftermarket stuff just to resolve a comfort issue.

Thanks so much. Great board as always.

Do the new bikes come with the Adjustable bars? Or, are they an add on? :f_spider: Tom :trike:

I wear 15's & dont have a problem on my RT-S with the foot pegs. The 2013's had some "Flaming" changes some good & bad. I believe the adjustable bars Are an upgrade along with the comfort seat

The 2013 did not change the seating position. What you want is the Comfort Seat it is the one that is cut 2" back the Limited Seat is the stock seat with stitching that says Limited on it. The adjustable handle bars are not stock on the 2013.

I got this for ya: running boards! I put a set of seal floorboards and love them. I am 6'2" with a size 13 foot and I am much more comfortable since adding the floorboards.

Try the 2013 SE with footboards. The change in position is subtle, but may be all you need. I can't comment on the adjustable bars, but they may be of help, too. In addition, custom seat suppliers and some aftermarket seats can provide a couple more inches of rider room and/or a raised seat.

2013 RT-S

I'm 6ft 6in and about 350lbs. Got the RT-S with floorboards a month ago with the comfort seat. Wear a size 14 shoe and I am very comfortable for a 3 hr ride. You can slide your feet forward with the floorboards and I have no pain in my bad knee.

Scotty also mentioned the new floorboards...

Happy Hunting! :2thumbs:

All I can say is, two things, comfort seat (moves you back 2 inches) and Seal floorboards !!!

Tommy J.

Agree that the BRP Comfort seat and the Seal Floorboards are good comfort additions on the :spyder2: RT. Your looking at about $1200.00 for the pair of accessory items. Other than the ESI trunk light, that is about all I have added to our 2011 A & C RT.

Sitting only..!!

You really need to test ryde the roadster of your choice. Sitting on it in the show room with doubts and looking for the negative does not help your decision. Ryde one and you will really see how it feels and what you need to adjust. You will find you don't need to do much...good luck..!!

Sounds like I will need a new seat. I wanted to avoid buying a different seat.

In terms of the floorboards, I am looking at the RT Limited which I thought had floorboards on the 2013 so what reason is there to get Seal boards?

TIA

The 2013 LTD SE5 should have footboards. You really should try one, though. You can't find a pair of pants that fit unless you try them on.

Your right! No additional floorboards needed on the 2013 RT.
