• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2013 RT Geometry and Brake Pedal

Still deciding on a 2012 RT Limited but it's clear that if I buy it I will need to change the seat to give me another couple of inches back (even with the Limited seat) because sitting on it as is just doesn't give my size 13 foot enough room.

But i am wondering if the 2013 RT Limited has made any changes to the brake pedal or where it sits that might help me avoid the seat purchase. I'd rather put that money towards the 2013 with the floorboards, etc.

Does anyone know?

Thanks in advance.

I don't believe the RT brake pedal geometry or the seating position was changed for 2013. If you need more seating room, a Russell Day-Long seat may be your best best. They will build to suit.

The 2013 Rt has adjustable handlebars ,the seat has been reworked so that the rider sit back further and also the knees are bent at about 70 degrees as opposed to the current 90 degrees. The frame is new as the battery access is via the frunk . JMHO I would buy a new 2013 RT Limited and not get a 2012 RT limited the extra money spent is well worth it .

I think this thread has the info that you are looking for http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...2013-Spyder-RT-ST-and-RS/page2&highlight=2013

I think that it would be best to wait until you can climb up on a 2013 model and see if your "gunboats" have enough room for docking...

The RS knee position is 90 degrees, not the current RT. The current RT is much less. The RT position really hasn't changed. The new footboards fit either old or new models, to support that fact. The new ST is the one the more relaxed seating position, with the seat changes and foot position changes from the RS, now 78 degrees instead of the RS's 90. You seem to have mixed some of the facts together and changed a number.

The bottom line here is that nobody will know for sure until these things land. If the fit is critical, wait until you can try one out...or plan on a custom seat.

I went with ISCI's floorboards since they offer four different heights that you can set them at. I have mine in the lowest position so that I can stretch my legs out as much as possible... ISCI Boards.jpg
