DOES ANY ONE HOW TO REMOVE THE BATTERY FROM A 2013 RTray:
ray:
This procedure is the same for all 2013 and 14 Spyders regardless of the model.
Putting it back together is the reverse of taking it apart. Pay special attention to getting the battery access cover installed correctly. If you don't get all the tabs hooked in correctly before putting the screws back in. It's going to leak.
what do you have to take off to get to the battery out, we a trying to change battery in my brothers 2013rt. we could not get the battery out through the front after removing cover and the bracket on the top of the battery.
If you did everything I said, just take it out. There should be nothing else holding it in! :dontknow:
I took mine out before putting my Spyder in storage and it took 5 minutes.
picture #2 i see nothing but the battery, no frunk no nothing but the battery. if that was the case i couls get it out. the dealership said the side panels have to come off. :helpsmilie::helpsmilie:
The front trunk does not have to come off. The dealer is confused with 2012 and earlier models.
Both cables are detached and pushed out of the way?
The rubber band is unhooked and removed?
The upper bracket is unhooked and removed?
i did all of that the battery will not come out, it's behind the trunk plastick liner and will not lift up to get over the plastic. i can not pull it forward.:banghead::banghead:
Push it back into place. The top of the battery comes out first.
the battery will not move. the first post says to remove the liner the cloth liner or the plastic liner???
Cloth liner.
It sound like you have the battery wedged between the top and bottom of the battery case. The battery should be loose and it can't come out bottom first. Not enough room.
Be sure to push the cables up out of the way. There isn't room to tip the battery if the cables get in the way. It is a tight fit, but will tip out easily as long as nothing is catching it.the battery is not wedged it will move form side to side i can not pull the top forward.
