• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2013 RT BATTERY REMOVAL

DOES ANY ONE HOW TO REMOVE THE BATTERY FROM A 2013 RT:pray::pray:

Open the front trunk.
Remove the contents and liner if you have one.
Remove the battery access panel by removing the the top 2 screws. Then lift up.
You will now see the battery.
Unhook the rubber bungee.
The upper bracket can now be swung up and removed.
Remove the screws attaching the cables to the battery.
Push the cables to side to get them out of the way.
The battery is now free to remove.

Unfortunately; no.
That battery will require some extra steps; it's hidden behind the left saddlebag, and underneath the passenger's grip rail.

This procedure is the same for all 2013 and 14 Spyders regardless of the model.

Putting it back together is the reverse of taking it apart. Pay special attention to getting the battery access cover installed correctly. If you don't get all the tabs hooked in correctly before putting the screws back in. It's going to leak.

Tight..!!

watch the cable removal sequence...black (-) first then red (+) and when reinstalling red (+) first then black (-). This helps avoid shorting and sparking and your in tight quarters...older models are a bit of a chore just to get to the battery but easier to work on once your there...

If you did everything I said, just take it out. There should be nothing else holding it in! :dontknow:

I took mine out before putting my Spyder in storage and it took 5 minutes.

The front trunk does not have to come off. The dealer is confused with 2012 and earlier models.

Both cables are detached and pushed out of the way?
The rubber band is unhooked and removed?
The upper bracket is unhooked and removed?

i did all of that the battery will not come out, it's behind the trunk plastick liner and will not lift up to get over the plastic. i can not pull it forward.:banghead::banghead:

the battery will not move. the first post says to remove the liner the cloth liner or the plastic liner???

Cloth liner.

It sound like you have the battery wedged between the top and bottom of the battery case. The battery should be loose and it can't come out bottom first. Not enough room.

Be sure to push the cables up out of the way. There isn't room to tip the battery if the cables get in the way. It is a tight fit, but will tip out easily as long as nothing is catching it.

The cloth liner referred to is the Frunk liner that needs to be removed or at least unzipped before you can get to the battery access panel cover. Then once you've removed the liner & the access panel & disconnected the rubber band thingy, lifted the top bracket that the rubber band clips onto, & then disconnected the cables, you hafta push the cables off to the sides of the battery before it'll tilt forwards so you can pull it forwards & out top first. If you leave the cables hanging over the top of the battery it won't tilt forwards enough. Worked fine for getting the battery out on my 2013 RT...
