2013 Recall Question

I just had the recall completed on my 2013 RTL and everything seems to be running ok. My question is the very front scoops below the frunk. I thought they were covered prior to the recall, now they have been open and they have no screen or protection, should they?

Is the now a grate/screen for the right side of the :spyder2: that is in front of the brake pedal?

I believe in 2014 they started making the "honey comb" grill on the right hand side. I say this because I bought the right hand side grill for my 2013 RT-S spyder and had it installed.

BRP did not include a screen for that opening...
My discussions with them about this has gotten me a very specific answer:
They want NOTHING in the way, that might obstruct airflow... they've left it alone for a very good reason.

I've had no discussions with them concerning the recall and those screens...
But if they didn't want anything blocking airflow before :shocked:
I'd imagine that they SURE wouldn't want anything in the way now. :yikes:

If you decide to add one; take careful note of any changes to airflow and temperatures nojoke

Thanks Bob,

I would rather be safe than sorry, but was not sure with all of the mods that were made on the recall if the screen could be added. If it is not recommended I would not want to take the chance.

Honestly; I don't know if it would slow down the airflow any at all...:dontknow:
(The ones that I've with the added screen always looked sharp! :thumbup
I think that it's probably a case of: "Proceed with caution; should you choose to accept this mission!"

My 2011 does not have the screen, the 2014 does have the screen. I also believe that 2014 was the first year to put in the "famous missing" screen.

No experience with 2012, or 2013--my only two "missing year" :ani29:'s

Spyderpop's Stainless Steel Mesh Grills...

I put Harvey's grills (3) on my 2013RTL. Looks great, lots of compliments and no issues with air flow. Been on for a year now. Recall work being done in 2 weeks.
