• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2013 Recall and the popping exhaust

So interesting development and I wondered if anyone else has experienced this. Since we have had the recall work done on our 2013 RT, I am noticing an increased exhaust popping on deceleration. I always downshift the transmission manually, and as I do this I have noticed an increase in the popping of the exhaust. Not too sure if the removal of the accustic panels would cause this, and not too sure that it is a problem......... In fact it sounds kinda cool. Wanted to hear from anyone else if they have experienced this.

I have noticed the same thing, although intermittently. The exhaust somehow sounds louder to me as well. Fuel mapping maybe?:dontknow:

Popping indicates a lean condition. Since fuel is metered by a computer, it is most likely air in combustion chamber caused by air leak. Can be a leak in a vacuum line connected to the FI or perhaps the exhaust was removed and new exhaust gaskets were not installed.

If they leaned out the mix; it sure could cause this... It's normally not a problem. And you're right; it DOES make the bikes sound a whole lot meaner! :D

Try rolling the throttle closed, before shifting... No fuel; no popping!

Whatever the cause it is not from the recall. No one has ever reported that issue before. Plenty of popping exhaust threads some after market mappers others doughnuts . I can't hear anything like it but then I wear a full helmet.

First of all please excuse my bad engklish, i'm french speaking.

I have exactely the same problem since my recall...

I also sometimes have missfires and diagnostic codes U0101 & U0303 at starting.

My dealer is working on the problem with BRP Care but...

:banghead:

Uh-Oh, the long awaited honeymoon looks like it's over a bit early![emoji57]

Now That IS interesting getting codes

U0101 * Lost communication or CAN Bus ID

U0303
Variant coding automatic transmission software incompatibility

Sounds like a bad BUDS loading or wiring issue.

Not Really

I am not too sure how you can say that, but then negative is your game:roflblack:! Since the recall we have we have put almost 8000 miles on the bike with better gas mileage and, even though we didn't have a lot of heat issues, it seems to run cooler. We have over 25000 trouble free miles on this machine and that has not changed! So while you look at the glass half empty, I see it over flowing with goodness. We have such a great dealer, I will check with them as we are about do for an oil change!:yes:

We also have had no problems since the recall. The panels are cool now, you can put gas into it easily when the engine is hot and seems like the gas mileage is slightly better.
A much better machine all around now with no complaints.
The only thing we hear is from everyone with all other years wanting the side vents on theirs.
