• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Recall work on my 2013 RT LTD completed

I just got home from picking up my Spyder from my dealer, Landair in Essex Junction Vermont. I drove it over there yesterday, so they could have the recall service done today. The service department called me at work at about 11:00 am and told me that the work on my RT was all completed. It took them just over 4 hours to do the work. So, after work I went home and had my son drive me to Landair so that I could pick it up. I really like the look of the air scoops on my white spyder. On my way home everything was working fine. I didn't notice any real sound changes coming from the engine compartment. At idle parked I think it may have been a little louder, but not anything you could really notice. The temps today was hot and humid, and one thing I noticed is the fan didn't kick on when I got home. I opened the seat and the spine of the frame was cool to the touch. I've never had any real heat issues, but I think that the air scoops do keep things cooler under the Tupperware. Time will tell as the area temperatures around here in the Northeast will get hotter in the next couple months. These are the pictures that I took of my RT before I left the dealership today.

Hi vtrider,

Re: These are the pictures that I took of my RT before I left the dealership today.

My money says that in three months, none of you '13 RT owners will even know that they are they.

Really glad that this working out for you guys; you've had it rough for too long.

Vtrider, Thanks for the picture of what the scoops look like from the drivers seat.

I think the air scoops actually give the RT a more filled in look underneath the mirrors. The only con I have is, I will miss the adjustable chrome air deflectors that I had.

Did you ask to get the deflectors back? The instructions say to discard them but I wonder if the dealer must do that in order for us to be reimbursed. Otherwise, as has been said we ought to get them back and peddle them here for a few bucks. If we were to sell them for $50 to $75 many lovers here would jump on them for the non '13 RTs.

The panels are under the Tupperware that are being removed. Quit bringing up ST's we just don't care about your bike it has been as fixed as it will be. Why are you even posting here? Go read the other thread on the recall it shows the scoops that are being added. This thread is for 2013 RT owners to post about their thoughts:lecturef_smilie: Don't make me roll up a newspaper :gaah:

Geez take a chill pill!

Mine is scheduled for the 24th. The dealer wanted me to come in earlier but due to my schedule it was not possible plus I told them to get all of the bugs out and I will come in a little later. Looking forward to getting it done. I think it will work and I am looking forward to my improved ride coming back from the shop

Actually, I removed the adjustable air deflectors and kept them and reinstalled the clear non adjustable one's that I had kept in the garage. Should I ever decide to sell or trade for a new RT, I will still have the adjustable set to use. I could sell them, but I want to wait and see what the future RT's will have on them. Who knows, those air scoops could make to the new models.

Smart move. Why didn't I think of that ?? Oh well guess I'll just put it down to "old fella's" decease.
Now going out to replace old original deflectors as my RT is booked in to have "heat fix" done next week.
As I haven't heard of any others being done thus far in Australia (surely there must be some) am thinking mine may be one of the first to be done here in Oz.
