There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2013-9 ECM Update: 2013 RT Test Results & Data.

As others have pointed out on here before, no 1 mpg calculation can give an accurate indication of the actual mpg since it's so hard to fill the tank up to the same exact fuel level each and every fillup... keep checking your fuel mileage and if it stays up high over the next couple tanks of fuel then perhaps the mpg actually has improved since your update!

I wouldn't use just a single tank of fuel as an indicator of mpg change though... I calculated 36mpg on my RS the other day, then did some more driving and the low fuel light came on with less trip mileage than expected (so apparently I hadn't filled it up to quite my normal level at the last fuel-up where I calculated the 36 mpg!). Calculated out at 27mpg this time when I filled the tank up. With a small tank just a little difference in how full you get it can make a significant change in the mpg from tank full to tank full.

Yes, I was measuring the right boot. No mater where I place my foot on the floorboard I feel the heat from the radiator. As for wind, there wasn't any difference between the first trip and the second one.

Also, regarding the boot temps... have a look at is seem safe to you?

I have taken my boots off before and my right foot was bright red and painful if touched. I think the only reason I haven't been injured yet is because I wear thick boot socks.

Nice chart. Hmm, where have I seen it before? Thinking........ Oh, having fought this battle. I will only say this. You, well, you and I know what you are experiencing from radiator heat is real. Don't look for too many here to understand it. And, be prepared to be told it is everything but what it is. That being, a design flaw, which is accentuated by the temprature zone we reside in. Best I stop there. Perhaps we will cross paths one of these days.

I posted this elsewhere but wanted to share it here too :thumbup:

Here is my ride update. First remember my mods I have DEI heat tape on tank and extra BRP insulation around the plastic gas cap & under glovebox area.
I took 2 roads one north one south. Wind from south 15mph. Going north ambient read 82-84 going south 78-79. Speed was 55-65 and 10 min in town.
Average speed=35mph
Mileage =71mi.
Digital coolant temp on road=4bars
In town =5bars
temp at stop for refill
Gas Cap = 105deg
Spine= 92deg
Glovebox area=92
Metal foot peg area L side=110deg
Metal foot peg area R side=116deg
... This is the lower metal plate the foot peg attaches to.
Plastic above both foot peg areas 92deg
All measurements done with 3 minutes after stopping at gas refill

MPG 71mi /2.25gal =31.5mpg. I have never seen much above 25mpg average before ECM update and a lot higher temp measurements. Should be interesting to see what happens when we get to 90deg.

D.T.,
Thanks for showing everyobdy how to properly document and test a condition!! :clap::2thumbs::firstplace::bowdown::thumbup:
Did I mention:

We're all going to be looking forward to more of your reports... Thanks again!

So... would you say it has improved "anything" with the heat issues??

Maybe a bit, too cool to tell yet. But it has made a difference in MPG it seems to me so far. I took measurements last year and saw 140+deg on the cap and seat front before my mods. Those were in 80+ deg conditions. It is still hot near the black hole but Seal DLX floor boards give me plenty of room to move my feet safely out of the heat. One of the best mods I made for comfort. :thumbup:

Took my 2013 RT-S in to get the Cal-Sci windshield installed at Apache Motorcycles in Mesa, Az. Mentioned that my ride seemed hotter after the update. They said they haven't had much feedback either way from their customers but stuck it on the computer anyway to see if the install went correctly and if anything showed up. Couldn't find anything but said to monitor it and if I feel it continues bring it in and they will figure it out. Nice guys who seem to care. Also, no charge for making me happy. They installed my windshield and I went for about a 30 mile ride. I'm not sure about it yet. Seems to cut out the buffeting I was getting and definitely quieter but at 65+ it seems like the bike gets a little squirrelly. I'll give it some time to see how I feel. Love Apache Motorcycles. Never blow you off, listen to you and will keep digging until a solution is found. Bike seemed cooler today but I may just be getting nuts. Also, got 30/gal on tankful since update and that's 3/gal than before.
