As others have pointed out on here before, no 1 mpg calculation can give an accurate indication of the actual mpg since it's so hard to fill the tank up to the same exact fuel level each and every fillup... keep checking your fuel mileage and if it stays up high over the next couple tanks of fuel then perhaps the mpg actually has improved since your update!
I wouldn't use just a single tank of fuel as an indicator of mpg change though... I calculated 36mpg on my RS the other day, then did some more driving and the low fuel light came on with less trip mileage than expected (so apparently I hadn't filled it up to quite my normal level at the last fuel-up where I calculated the 36 mpg!). Calculated out at 27mpg this time when I filled the tank up. With a small tank just a little difference in how full you get it can make a significant change in the mpg from tank full to tank full.
