There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Hi I have a 2012 Spyder RT SM5 Audio and convenience. 4500 miles. Went for a ride. Went into limp mode with check engine light abs light and Vss fault. Got codes C006C C0044 P0556 P0504. Checked all fluids and topped off. Battery is new. Dealer said it could be a low voltage on the battery. Put the bike on a trickle charger. Battery wasn’t that low. I was going to take for another ride to see if the codes reset themselves. Would this cause more problems? Anyone else have the same issue? Thanks.

Hi Leone, welcome to the Forum :welcome:

Often, multiple codes like that on a Spyder will be battery related, and just cos a battery is new OR that it passes a 'normal' load test as 'good' doesn't necessarily mean that it's NOT STILL the battery!! :banghead:

These things are extremely power hungry, and I've found over many Spyders that if your battery voltage EVER drops below 12 Volts while attempting to start, the issues you report are quite likely!! So a 'normal' load test that looks for anything better than about 10.5 Volts whilst cranking to report the battery is 'good' really isn't helpful - you need to know that the voltage NEVER drops below 12 Volts whilst cranking & starting! :lecturef_smilie:

That said, the 2012 & earlier Spyders had their batteries under the seat, and they had a really dodgy Main Earth for the battery just there too, with a 'nutsert' type insert pressed into the metal frame that'd frequently work loose, so the earth strap & bolt could look good and be tight, but the nutsert may be no longer tight in the frame, leaving a poor earth, meaning that every time you try to start it allows 'less than adequate voltage' to supply everything and you either get a blank dash & no start; or you get that 'cascade of codes' &/or VSS/ABS/Check Engine Light errors just like you've described!! :gaah:

But all this has been raised here before, multiple times, most of those codes are also discussed at length too, so if you want to look any further into this, simply type one of the codes into the Search Field (up toward the Top Right of the page, just under the Lamonster Garage Logo); tick the 'Search Titles Only' box in the drop-down list that'll appear below the text field; submit the search; and do some reading! ;) There's not too much about Spyders, especially the older Spyders, that hasn't already been at least raised here before, so it ALWAYS pays to do some searching and reading first, before starting a new thread; and it doesn't hurt to add to an existing thread either; only if it's older than about a year or so, there might not be much point in directing questions to the previous posters in it (especially not if their usernames are Red or Grey, which denotes they are no longer active here) but someone will answer if you add a post!

Cheers
