• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

If you cleaned the visible terminals & are now moaning about finding & getting battery out, you can't have cleaned & tightened the actual battery terminals

Yes I had only cleaned the visible leads , now that the panel is off, I can't believe how dirty it is in there. Any ideas on the best way to clean it out? Air is not doing that great a job. Pressure washer?

if yo can take a photo of what the area looks like for the next person who has this problem , { if you can that is } I think the idea when you have the battery charged , and cycle running , turn on every thing , lights on high , flashers , any thing with electric , look at the volt meter , if it is staying in the good zone on charge , the system is working too the battery , if everything shuts down ---- well , lets start there :shocked: { any one every mess with the mag charger ? } magneto < --- think that is how we might spell it ?

Were the terminals loose, corroded etc?

Never had to clean the battery compartment but maybe a rubber glove & a hot soapy rag to start with.

OK, Here's the result, First thanks again to all, and the videos on this link and can am TV for great insight as to how to get into the machine.

Evidently this was not the factory battery. The positive boot was mangled by the last owner or shop, push pins damaged so I was not the first one in. Who ever put the last battery never even tried to tighten the leads. I got a full turn on both the positive and negative battery posts. As soon as I tightened them I was running. So I removed / cleaned and torqued them up. The battery was fine
Lots of dirt

I cleaned the grime with air and a 2" paint brush to loosen the dirt as I went

I guess all of us "battery is dead" guys have some crow to eat! :bowdown: We all learned something. Never 'ass u me' a five year old bike just has to still have the original battery in it! :banghead:
