There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. I need to get the panel that goes around the left headlight off. I have the other panels off already and I have removed the 3 pins and th one screw I could find but there must be others as it wont come off. Any help?

Not 100% but on my STL the manual had me go from the dash, no panels to remove. Need small hands but did work. Same bulb. Should be very similar check you manual:thumbup:

2012 RT

Undo the pushpins. Open that area up an inch or so. From below, unplug the wires. Route them back toward the open area just below the left headlight. Install horn there. Leave stock horn in place. Won't hurt anything, weighs a few ounces. Saves hours! Joe

If it's like the 2013 RT the one screw and 3 pins is your problem. You have to open things up on both left and right sides and pull the panel off forward from both headlights, hence you have both left and right screws and pins. That means you have to have an even number in your hand before you can pull it off.

This is a picture of the panel. I mis spoke about headlights,it is the fascia around the driving lights.

OK, that is different! Here again, if it's like the 2014, there are two clips on plastic tabs near the end of the fascia that hang down thru some slots. You'll have to look to find them and struggle to get the clips off. Then you have to lift the fascia up to free it to move it sideways. You will then probably bend the tabs over trying to put the fascia back in place, like I did! Needless to say when I was finished with my RTS, those clips did not go back!

Question: Have you taken a look at the instructions in your owner's manual yet? :dontknow:
Normally; they're pretty complete, and easy to follow.

You have to remove the frunk to get to all the fasteners that hold that panel on.

Once the frunk is off, there is no need to remove that panel from the frunk to install the horn in the stock location.

So I got enough of the fasteners loose to get the panel out of the way to at least see the horn. I think I see the wire. I am hoping to find out what color the wires are that feed the horn. I can see the top of the horn but not where the wires attach

Be aware that on the Spyder the horn button is in the ground circuit side of the horn. The power coming to the horn is hot all the time.

You have a service manual don't you? You've probably already seen this in the wiring diagram!

If you want to install a new horn in the stock location, remove the frunk. Once you do, the two wires and connector for the horn will be obvious. Be sure to install a relay on the ground side of the circuit to prevent the current for the larger horn from going through the control cluster on your handlebar.

I have no pressing need to remove the stock horn,I have other places to mount the new one. Right now I need to know if I can remove the wires without pulling the frunk and what color I'm looking for. I also have a P & P wiring harness with a relay.

Thanks for your help.

There's a rectangular connector. Lt blu w/ biege is power to the horn. Green w/ gray stripe is ground lead that goes to the horn button. That's the bike harness wire. From the connector to the horn itself red is power and black is ground.

That's the way is on my 2013 RT. I think the 2012 would be the same.

Do you have the service manual with wiring diagrams? If not it is well worth the investment of something over $20 from canammanuals.com. There are other web sites also but I think they all lead to the same place.

that is what I needed to know. Thank you. I do have the service manual but my computer at home is down right now and I don't have it on this one at work. Thank you all for your help.

Doing the same thing, same problems.

I have been doing the same thing. I've got the panel around the left fog light loose, and I can see the horn, but zero room to access the old horn. I have a 2012 RT SE5. Trying to add a new horn like you.

Rather than take the frunk off, I would like to mount the new one under the left headlight, I see space, but not enough to mount vertically, maybe sideways.

I'm stuck, but I have had fun pulling off all the panels.
