2012 RT se5 lowering brake pedal

Is it possible to lower the brake pedal on a 2012 Rt se5. My wife has to lift her foot off the floor board to reach the pedal. I tried a forum search but could not find an answer.... Thanks. :banghead:

.....I have modded some pedals, however because of BRP's design with the FLOORBOARDS ....to change the relationship be would be difficult. BRP built in an emergency tilting factor for the floorboard that you would want to keep...............Why is She having a problem ?????....Mike :thumbup:

Her problem is having to lift her foot up off the floorboard to reach the pedal. Not like being able to rest her heel and use her toes to press the brake. She says at a long stop light she starts to get a leg cramp....

I'm not sure that this bike has floorboards since its a 2012. I think that it just has the pegs unless floorboards were added.

Plausable but then what would the fix be? Suggest you run your VIN number find what is stock on her bike. The problem may just be a bad install. Find out what type they are & the proper adjustments. & or replace. :thumbup:

We've owned the bike 3 days now and still on a learning curve. It does have aftermarket billit floorboards. I cannot find a pic of them online tho. Searching here for brake pedal I found a thread for tricled full size brake pedal. I ordered it to see if a larger pedal will solve her problem. Tomorrow I will post a pic of what is on the scoot now... Thanks for your replies.

Unfortunately; lowering the brake pedal is difficult at it's best; and dangerous at it's worst! :shocked:
Your Wife really needs that amount of pedal movement in order to maximize her stopping power. Lower the pedal, and she may not be able to reach the bottom of the stroke...

That would also encourage her to ride the brake. Never a good thing on any vehicle and guaranteed to throw codes on a Spyder.

Let's see....

It's sounding like an issue with aftermarket floorboard design. If it does not have the brake away feature lowering the pedal would be dangerous. Comments above should help you decide. The larger pedal may help her rest her foot on it at those long stops but she could drop into neutral if level...:thumbup:

OK I found the problem. I googled ISCI floorboards & read the installation instructions & found the P.O. DID NOT complete the install correctly. There is a brake lever extenstion that comes with the kit (pages 4, 5, 6, and page 11 item 3) that was not installed. So I feel the TRILINE extenstion I ordered might solve the problem. The 2012RTS-SE5 has pegs. ( that was my first spyder) Deanna

Have you considered maybe ISCI's handbrake instead of changing the brake pedal? I know it is an expensive solution but it would prevent those horrible leg cramps.
