• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. 2012 Owners Event

SDM

hubby (Tobor 9) and I here at Velocity Motorsports for my :spyder2: 3000 service. hubby was talking to a BRP rep from Charlotte about the 2012 owners event. They are considering having it in Maggie Valley again as it was such a good turn out in 2011. No firm decisions yet but just wanted to let you know

It was the largest Spyder event to date and I could see why they would do it there again. I'm good anywhere except a big city. :doorag:

I just want to know how the Spyder Five & a few others do it. How do you ryde so many miles? I have a job that keeps me busy. Oh, I get miles but, in a Peterbuilt.

I can't speak for the others but I take my job on the road with me. I haven't had a real day off in 12 years, I am dealing with something on my other sites 7 days a week from the time I get up till the time I go to bed. Ask anyone who has shared a room with me how much time I put in on my real job. I would love to have a 40-50 hour work week and have two days in a row that I didn't have to check my emails or look at my boards.

:2thumbs: Maggie valley works for me.

Hey Lamont you must of had a few slow days when you went to Strugis ! Almost all the pics had Spyderpops or Len on there Crackberrys.:roflblack:

Maggie Valley was great......but I'll go anywhere.....not fond of big cities...leave near Houston and I don't remember the last time I went downtown......

I hope not! I'd much rather see it out in Colorado. IMHO a National Rally should move around year to year.

:agree: It would be nice to see an event in the western states. Sure makes it hard for us westerners to attend when we have to take 2 weeks off of work for a 3 or 4 day event. :(

I'm biased as I'm only a few hours from Maggie Valley.

That said, the chance to throw the leg over the Spyder and ride for two or three days to get to a rally is exciting as well. The only problem is Spyder vacation time, versus family vacation time.

The first year, the event was called the Homecoming and it was in Valcourt Quebec where they build Spyders. Then it was in Los Angeles (3 years ago). Next, they did a midwest event in Chicago (2 years ago) and last year was in Maggie Valley. They've moved the event around the country so far and I personally think that they should continue to do it that way.

It would be the same for some of us on the east coast. I'm for having one in the west and one in the east. But I'm sure cost would be a factor for BRP to do it that way.

Michigan gets my vote.

SABM 2012 - Spyders Attack the Big Mac 2012!

If you know Michigan, you will know the location I'm talking about.

Just picture all those Spyders crossing the bridge!

BRP, I hope you are reading this.

I'm kind of in the same boat as Lamont, a lot of my work as a writer/ director is freelance, and spread out around the country. I can write or make films from any hotel room while I'm riding. And add to that the fact that traveling on the Spyder and going to some of these events is part of my responsibility as a member of the Spyder 5.
