• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2011 Spyder RT-Limited Gauge question

I have a couple of different/additional gauages I'm going to mount
on my 2011 RT-Limited. My question is I believe I have read that if you unplug the current gas gauage and temp gauage, that these functions will then show up on the display. Is this correct and does it throw any errors if these 2 gauges are unhooked? Thanks.

Yes the fuel and temp will show up on the display if unplugged, I have had no issues since I did it.

If you have the analog fuel and temp gauges, you can pull the dash panel and unplug them. Then the digital fuel and temp gauges will be on the sides of the display. The problem then is to figure out what to replace the analog gauges with, volt meter, oil pressure, oil temp, or wireless tire pressure gauge. I am still thinking on that one.

I have no codes thrown nor have I had any problems.

I've gotten a air temp/clock combo....I know both are on the display now,
but hard for me to read. And then I have a volt gauge. Does anyone
have a screen shoot of the display with the gas gauge and temp displayed
on the sides? Just curious.......can't decide whether to do that or add 2 pods and mount th enew gauges in them......using or replacing the gas gauge and temp would be cleaner if this info shows up good on the display without the gauges being plugged in.

Again thanks for the response,

Duane

I went with Teleflex analog voltmeter and oil pressure gauges first time around. Switched over to Cyberdyne ice blue digital voltmeter and ambient temperature gauges recently. Used existing wires off the original gauge plugs to power the units. There are other heavier duty gauges, like AEM, that really look sharp, but as they say, you get what you pay for. I will probably bite the bullet and purchase these down the road if my current mounts fail for any reason.
Note: Should you decide to go with the Oil Pressure gauge you should purchase a 10mm to 1/8 NPT adapter to attach your sending unit to the engine block. The OEM oil pressure sensor is a 10mm male thread and will tap into a 1/8 NPT female T, but I would not recommend using a 1/8 NPT fitting when tapping into the engine block.

Good luck on whatever you decide to mount.

This is the volt gauge I went to. It is a little hard to see in bright sunlight.
