• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2011 Spyder RT - Brakes noisy in reverse

I have a 2011 Spyder RT. When I am backing up I am getting a squeal from the brakes. Hard to tell if it is in the front or the back. Any thoughts on what to look for.

Very common. I wouldn't worry about it. But if you want to see if you can quiet it a bit, you can try this product.

You can also try heating up your brake pads by braking aggressively from 60 mph to 20 mph 3 times. You will always get more brake noise in reverse than when moving forward. And the 2008-2012 Spyders are more prone to brake noise than 2013+ machines.

Don't do like a friend I knew back in the 1980's that sprayed it on the rotors :yikes:

I think a wise man once told me when you put new pads on, before you install them, take a file on put them on a grinder and put a small bevel on the trailing edge of the pad, that may help also!! Good luck!!!

Very common occurrence on 08/09/10/11.

I found it mostly at start up when putting in reverse on all of the above. My 14/19/20 are all quiet.
