Hello All,
I have a 2011 Spyder RT Ltd. Due to personal circumstances, I could not use my trike for approx. a year. So, bad gas is, of course, expected right away, but I am looking for recommendations on recent problems. I took the bike for an hour's ride, and it appears to misfire from idle up to about 4k Rpm, at which point the 2nd cylinder appears to kick in and accelerate smoothly and strongly. Once I get to a stop and then restart, again it's only one cylinder, with practically no throttle response until higher Rpm.
I am going to run some Berrymans thru the tank if I can, I have filled tank with premium octane and used approx 3/4 tank.
I am going to replace the plugs and wires, possibly the ignition coil also, never been replaced. My questions are as follows:
Besides plugged injectors, bad wires, plugs, coil; from the Forum, I see vacuum hoses also can play a part... Is there anything else I should be looking at?
My local dealer will not work on Spyders older than 2015 models, so I am on my own for now. I hope to troubleshoot, and parts replace to at least get a baseline of improvement before I get towed 50 miles or more to get to a dealer.
Any thoughts on best place to order parts online, new plug wires, new coil, injectors?
