2011 RT Brake Pedal

Greetings All, I am not really a wrencher so forgive this un-educated question. Can you change the position of the brake pedal on the 2011 RT S? I have to keep looking down to make sure my toe is not on it. When I had my goldwing I was able to change the position so that it was higher then the peg so if my foot moved forward it would not activate the foot brake.

Well you're gonna have to get down and dirty for this one! I've got a 2010 RT so it should be about the same. There's a threaded rod that connects the pedal back to the guts of the braking system. I think that you can tinker with the height of your pedal by playing with the length of that rod...

I'm not sure about playing with the length of the rod into the master cylinder ? It might raise the brake pedal slightly but then your brakes will engage more quickly .:dontknow:

When I installed the Sealfloorboards on my RT I had to raise the brake pedal a little higher than the rubber spacers provided with the boards. Home Depot sells nylon spacers of different thicknesses that fit nicely between the brake pedal and the rubber cover on the pedal. I brought the rubber part of the pedal up about 3/4 of an inch which is perfect for me.

Nahhhh... it just raises the pedal. There was no change in the feel of the brakes. :thumbup:

I brought the rubber part of the pedal up about 3/4 of an inch which is perfect for me.

The spacer I provide is a 3/4" rubber grommet. But as you say, a nylon spacer of any reasonable height would work fine. It's all about comfort and safety. The nice thing about the Seal FloorBoards is that you can move your feet around and beside the brake. I still brake with my heel from a forward foot position most of the time.
