• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2011 RSS Accessories Connector HELP !

I'm installing an 12VDC accessory port in the dash tied to the factory DC1 & DC2 conections and a combo 12VDC & USB port in the frunk connecting to the factory DC3 connection. The switched DC1 & DC2 connections are easily mated with spade connectors to the factory wiring, however the DC3 unswitched accessory feed utilizes a 2 pin, AMP brand connector. I'd like to mate to the factory wiring if possible... Does anyone know a source to purchase the mating connector for the factory accessory connector ??? Any insight, suggestion or information appreciated ! :spyder:

(BTW, I know I could just splice into the wires, but I'd prefer to mate with a factory mating connector (I'm anal-retentive about stuff like that) :joke:

Gotta say...

Goggle is your friend. I can't remember where I saw them but if you Google those style connectors you will find a supplier. I cut splice solder and shrink wrap with water proof connectors from automates or bike shop parts....:dontknow:

Heres a picture of the DC3 accessory connector... It's a 2 pin, AMP brand connector, however I've been unable to locate the mating connector for it. It appears to utilize flat pin style contacts. Thanks for the suggestions so far... I'll continue to try and locate the connector !

Wrap-up report !

I download the spec sheets on a couple potential mates but none of the dimensional information panned out enough to warrant ordering... To close out the project, I extracted the blade style contacts from a old car stereo mating harness I had in my McGyver box and performed a pin splice to the connector, covered the assembly in heat shrink and secured the wiring to the existing factory harness.
I added the 3 amp fuse in the box, buttoned up the entire assembly checked the two new power ports... Trunk mounted power port consisting of 12vdc and dual usb outlet wired hot off DC3 accessory feed, and dash mount 12vdc outlet wired off switched circuit from DC1/DC2 accessory all working and looking good !
While I had the girl torn down to parade rest I added the OEM steering 1" riser block, replaced a failing frunk release cable, changed the oil, engine and transmission filter and treated a couple areas where some corrosion was starting... All in all a pretty good weekend !
:doorag: Thanks for all the insight and suggestions !
