Bummer - looks like I should get up earlier to come on here
These were not on public display, these were taken on a loading dock.If they are at a convention center then are they not on public display?
I will say that I am more excited about the new Spyder than I was before after seeing these pics.]
:agree:with you there. I can't wait to see the 2010 spyders in person :2excited:
Or maybe it would be more correct to say EVERYBODY KNOWS about the picture that you and everyone else has see.I've seen you post a few times that nobody knows whats coming for 2010. :dontknow:
I'd rephrase that perhaps to read that "you" don't know.
Being polite here , just thinking perhaps before you say "nobody knows" , you should know who you are lumping into the "nobody knows" category. Just sayin.... cuz you will find out in about 14 days your statement is quite wrong. :spyder: Ride on Brother.

I think Lamont did the right thing.
It is BRP's vehicle. Sounds like they had a signed contract with the company doing work for them NOT to take or publish any pictures or information.
BRP paid the contractor and someone violated the agreement.
I think it is more important to maintain integrity than it is to satisfy our curiosity (which, by the way, will get satisfied soon enough anyway).
I don't think we suffer from too much integrity anywhere in society today. If Lamont leaves the pictures up (as much as we'd like to see them) he encourages who ever it was that violated the contract with BRP.
It isn't a matter of what you can get away with. It's a matter of what is right.
I agree, it isn't a national security issue. But right is right. It is one of the reasons SpyderLovers.com is a great place to be.
I am not a grasshopper, but I can wait.
I was stopped by a trucker that delivers Spyders and he had the following to offer:
The trucks had to be redesigned to fit the larger profile of the 2010s. He also stated that the engine was around 1900cc.
Take it for what it is- hearsay. He seemed convincing enough to me though.
We are talking about the new Spyder, not the new aircraft to replace the stealth bomber. I guess I still have plenty to learn.
I wonder if after tuesday the brp spyder web sight will have the new specs. on the 2010 touring models?. . . it is THEIR party and you can cry if you want to.
Even after Tuesday, when 'all' is revealed, there will be plenty to speculate on, grumble over, and drool about. Marketing strategies that try and build "buzz", interest, and anticipation are nothing new. The internet has just added a new wrinkle to it. There even seems to be whole industries that spy on new cellphones, car & truck models, movies, computers and iPods. The tabloids really play upon this, because "inquiring minds want to know", no cows are sacred and no fact cannot be bent or manufactured. Anything is fair game to be seconded guessed in advance.
But, I try and put myself in BRP's position. If I were planning a new model unveiling, or product introduction that was very important and costly, I would want to manage the First Impression - you only get one shot at that.
So, it is not about National Security or even about your or my "right" to be entertained. It is about them doing this unveiling the way they think best. It is their privilege and responsibility. I have noticed that if you don't respect and support other peoples' privileges, responsibilities or rights, you will could lose yours. (which is why I wrote this)

Yeah, no kidding. I guess even freedom of information on the internet is tainted. I have always assumed that if it wasn't sensative information that would endanger the lives of troops (opsec), or if it wasn't indecent (porn), that, as free citizens, we could post things on this forum that would enlighten or entertain the other members of the forum. That is one of the major reasons that I frequent the Spyderlovers; the information is often very current and not corrupted by the bureaucratically neutered spokesmen from BRP. We are talking about the new Spyder, not the new aircraft to replace the stealth bomber. I guess I still have plenty to learn.

I will be blunt, very blunt. This is Lamont's board and we are all just his guests. If we don't like it go somewhere else, that is your choice. I plan on staying here because it is Lamont's Board and he runs in with the same morals and ethics that I have which makes me feel comfortable here. In this world of instant gratification, I choose not to partake and can wait for the official unveiling. Having said all this I still do like to peek at the Christmas gifts under the tree the night before !!!
