• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sunday I got my 2009 SM5 bike out for the 2nd time this year 1st ride it ran good.
Pulled out on highway and oil light came on and bike wouldn't rev over 3800 rpms with out spitting and sputtering, I checked oil level was a little low so I added maybe 10 oz. no change still doing the same thing. made it back home. any ideas on what to check?

Oil light on means low oil pressure. Time to bring it to the dealer and find the cause. Do not run it anymore until the problem has been found.

Maybe you'll get lucky and its just a bad oil pressure sensor.....

i'm with drew on this one. you might get lucky. i did!!! (last year) and no, i'm not talking about sex!:roflblack:

oil light

have had this several times and adding oil to the full mark cleared it up. Never got the limp mode bike kept running normally but stopped shortly after light came on and added oil. If it doesn't clear with adding oil then by all means have the oil pressure checked out...

Two problems

Sounds like two separate issues.

One has already been covered. The other, running bad with low RPM's is likely bad fuel.

where is the oil pressure sensor located we have looked and looked wheres it hiding?

It's located on the underside of the engine, just to the right of centre. You will probably need to remove the plastic splash panel to access it. It has a 10mm thread and is not a generic off the shelf item at a parts store - genuine item only for replacement.
