2009 Phantom Good Price??

Hi Spyderlovers,

I am hopefully going to purchase my spyder this week. I wanted to know if you all thought this was a good price for the 09 Phantom Edition. The dealer would like 15,700. They don't charge for setup and such but I assume this is in the price (Nothing is for free). This spyder has more extras than I would have gotten if I bought a red or yellow one so they can use the 1k toward the purchase price of the spyder making it 14,700. I still have to pay around a grand in taxes, tags, and title. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks- Kent

Kent, are you buying this from Hanover Motosports?I bought mine from there last year,I live in Westminster.Let me know when you get it.Sounds like A good deal.

not to open a can of worms . . . . . .

. . . . are you buying a "real" Phantom or a Spyder with the Phantom body panels?

The model number for the real Phantoms is ( as quoted from another thread ) " The product # that designated the Phantom on the vehicle title is "A19N" " These were specific models that were outfitted with all the Phantom upgrades. If it is just the body panels, those are, if I remember correctly, just a little more than the yellow or red options.

I would hope the Phantom owners would chime in with all the specifics.

Tom, you're correct on the title designation. Although the Phantom is purely a cosmetic upgrade, I think it's cheaper this way than if you bought all of the parts, and then had the dealer install them.

From what I can tell and was told from the dealer it is a true Phantom. However, I didn't check the vehicle id. I can check that tomorrow with the dealer.

I think Skidz is right - it is mostly a cosmetic upgrade, much like the 'Limited' models in different car and truck lines, though, if you ordered all the trim and other features for a base model, it would cost significantly more.

But, even if it is not a "real' Phantom with the model designation, but has all the upgrades that makes a Phantom (light upgrades, 6 spoke wheels, anti-vibration bars, etc.) nobody would ever know unless they saw the title and knew what they were looking for. Myself, that would be OK.

My concern was that you might be paying for a Phantom, but just getting the black body panels - that would not be a good deal.

If you are buying it from Hanover Motosports I believe it is a "real" Phantom as it does have the 6 spoke wheels and other upgrades.

great deal ?

I'd be sure the $1000 BRP deal can go towards the base purchase price. The original deal was for "accessories".

I bought it!! I was able to get it for 14,700. Thought that was pretty good.

Tom- The model number has the designation A19N.

The last three number of the Vin number/serial number is 452.

I am looking forward to some warm days and plenty of riding. Not too many, if any, warm days left here. But then again I did buy a heavy riding jacket!!

Wanna ride??
