We bought our black & Silver 2008 beloved Spyder the end of May, 2009. Right out of the gate, we started having intermittant electrical problems. We have been through pure hell the whole 1 1/2 years plus, patiently hopefully, hoping & praying that CAN MN Spyder BRP could fix the Spyder from hell, lemon of all lemons, high tech, compurterized, electrictrical night mare. We have been patiently making all of our $275.00 monthly payments, while our Spyder spends months at a time in a CAN AM Spyder BRP service dept, while they have replaced every electrical component, wires, gauges & switches & most, more than once! We have been nice & patient, writing very time consuming, very detailed & itemized letters to Carlo, customer service exectutive manager, & Crystal, customer service person, who works directly for the President of CAN AM Spyder, Mr. Jose Boisjli. We picked up our beloved CAN AM Spyder on 11-17-10 after another 3 1/2 week stay at the CAN AM Spyder BRP service dept., they replaced all electrical, all 3 brake shoes, park brake & dps for the 4th time. It was obvious to me on my cold, short, about 15 mile ride home, that our 2008 se5 r5, CAN AM Spyder demons were alive & well. Our high tech, computerized, electrical night mare, lemon of all lemons, Spyder from hell is jinxed! Our CAN AM Spyder has been in a CAN AM BRP service dept. more days than it has been in our possession, & our possession includes the 5 months that it sits in the garage here in ice cold Minnesota. We wrote again to the President, Mr. Boisjli and the two VP's & explained to them that they can not fix our Spyder, because God knows, they have tried, and that we felt that we deserved another machine, a 2009 se5, RS, straight across, no additional charge, that's beter than throwing more time & money into something that can not be fixed. Crystal's response was that it is not CAN AM BRP's policy to give new CAN AM Spyders away.
So, it seems to us like it is CAN AM BRP's policy that if you are unlucky enough to get one of their lemons of all lemons, a high tech, computerized, electrical night mare that they can not fix, it is your baby now, and CAN AM BRP does not feel your pain & will not stand behind their product. It looks like we are stuck with a machine that we are afraid to leave town in, that we have learned to hate, and we are stuck with $275 payments for anoher 5 years! It appears our only relief is BUYER BEWARE & try to warn everyone that we meet that CAN AM BRP is not an upstanding, ethical company & BUYER BEWARE! Time is running out for us, I am 73 & my wife in her 60's. I am not their R & D guy, research & developement, we are not their guinea pigs. It is time that CAN AM BRP stands up, & gives us the 2009 Spyder straight across. No one buys a new item, pays that much money, goes through all the crap that we have been drug through and are told basically, we've done what we've done, you are stuck with a broken machine. Would you put up with that kind of crap? The stack of paper work, phone calls & negotiations is over whelming!! Thank you, Studybaker Bob
