• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

so..!!

your feeling good about this or bad. Seems like a nice trips to over 10,000 miles and not out of the ordinary cost wise. Do you read the posts here regularly..??:roflblack: Your doing good. Sorry I do my own work so only refer to others posting..!! :dontknow:

I let the dealer take my cash for the 600 and 3000 mile services. I do all my own now. I'm just over 10K miles now. Most likely I will also do the 12k valve adjustment myself too. That way I can have my cash for farkles, which by far has been my biggest and most frequent expences. :ohyea:

valve adjust

My dealer no longer does the valve adjustment after charging so many customers to check the valves they have never ever found one that needs to be adjusted so now they just no longer check the valves for the 14'000 mile service and can save their customers some money. they do check them at 28,000

I waited until 28,000 miles to do valve check. All was in spec dealer said he hasn't found any that he did was out of spec. It's your dime. I do what maintenance I can dealer does the rest. If I looked at what I have spent at the dealer / frackles the last 3 years i would have a heart attack :yikes:. I figure its part of owning something that I get so much enjoyment from.

Had the 28,000 done on my :spyder2: last fall, did not need any adjustment. Did not do a 14,000 on that unit. Did a 12,000 on my 2008 and that did not need an adjustment. It's your call--but the extra $600 or so to do it is worth considering.

So I picked up this iPhone app called Road Trip. I plan on using this app to track all expenses for the 2014 I plan on getting. Will get a good figure of total cost for a year to include fuel and MPG and all service related stuff.
