• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

$150 Android based Waterproof Motorcycle GPS. Fact or Fantasy

GPS

Currently under review is a $150 motorcycle GPS unit with an Android operating system. It has Bluetooth 4.0, iGo map system, and comes preloaded with the Google App store and browser. WiFi, 8GB ram and an expansion slot for a microSD card that supports 16GB. Claims easy use and great headset connectivity. Too good to be true??
I just received this unit and have mounted it to the bike and have begun testing. I will post the complete shakedown including success and failures. It comes with car and bike mounts, plus car and bike wired chargers. First glance pluses for me (besides the price tag) include the Android operating system and the ability to upload third party apps. Don’t like iGo? Download Google Maps or your other favorite GPS program. Have FOBO to monitor your tire pressure? Download the app and monitor your sensors without the hefty Garmin price tag. Not a professional reviewer or tester by any means so if you have a specific question for something I can check, send me a PM or ask on the post and I will do what I can to answer it. Before the first question comes in, there is no online or electronic version of the manual for the unit. This is an unpaid review and I did not receive the product in exchange for providing a review.View attachment 145641View attachment 145642View attachment 145643View attachment 145644
Count me in looks nice....let us know how it works

any further updates on this

I am looking for an inexpensive GPS to have on hand and was wondering how this worked.

I am liking it so far. It comes with iGo nav software installed but since it is Android based you can load up a variety of different GPS programs. I tried the TomTom Go app but it is a subscription and would be good on a cell phone but the extra features are wasted so I removed it. I am currently trying three apps that are built around just GPS signals and don't need cellular. Map Factor, Sygic, and Osmand. Pluses and minuses for each. I am trying to figure out which will work the best with uploaded routes from other people. I have also installed the FOBO app so I can monitor my tire pressure. It will take a 32GB card which is hand for apps, routes, and music. I have found the screen to be most responsive with a stylus or fingernail. Not jittery at all on the road and routes update quickly if I change up on the fly. It connects with my Sena 10 which is more of a requirement for me than the display. I want to be able to hear the instruction and my music. The screen is fair in the sun, probably better than what I expected for the price and there are sun shields available online but I am currently making my own. I'm in Jax and need to make a trip to JP cycles at Destination Daytona. PM me if you would like to meet over there sometime and see it in person.
