• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thanks for the helpful information. I find it quite interesting how the clutch operates opposite of a standard motorcycle or car clutch. In a normal clutch, the springs hold pressure between the clutch plates to keep them engaged when the clutch lever is released.


I bet this was engineered in case of low oil the clutch would not engage, rather then the clutch staying engaged and stalling the motor when stopping. Quite a feat of engineering.
 
Does anybody have any issues with the operation of this system? :dontknow: When my bike is cold: it takes more revs to make it engage, and then it does so rather suddenly.
Once it's warmed up though; it's all good! :thumbup:

Yes Bob, I do. I notice when first pulling out of the garage. I have to look and make sure it is in gear because it revs up and does not go anywhere. Then it engages rather quickly and have to let off the throttle so I don't run across the street into the neighbor's house, lol.

By the time I get to the stop sign at the end of the street (about 1,000 feet) it is all better and works normally after that. My guess is that the oil has to build up enough pressure to engage the clutch, and this takes a little longer when the oil is cold. Hey, it could even be an ECU thing so the engine won't stall when cold.

I am sure someone with more knowledge will have the proper answer.

As you are well aware, this is a wet clutch and I am sure the oil cushion on the plates is much greater when the oil is cold. I don't notice a lot of difference based on temp but I am also very easy on the motor until it comes up to temp.
