• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

12,000 mile service parts

Does anyone have their itemized list of parts that were required for the 12,000 mile service? I would like the part #'s so I could order them in advance or do most dealers stock the parts, like the ball bearings and seals? What items on the check list are the most important? Is it really that important to change the brake fluid? How about the spark plugs if the my Spyder is running good? I plan on doing my own oil change. Thanks!

This is a good post. I am very curious myself as to what is involved. Release the Hounds!! :roflblack:

It is definitely important to change the brake fluid. Brake fluid will absorb moisture from the air. Although we think of our brake systems as being sealed they are not completely air tight.

Usually northern tools or harbor freight has a pretty good brake fluid changer. They are the type units that syphon fluid from a clean container. Also any fluid left is useless unless you intent to use it in a few days. These containers don't reseal very good after they've been opened.

It's been a while since I priced one so I can't estimate the current cost. Ken krb1945

:agree:

Evoluzione has a one man bleeder contraption..wonder if that works well. My clutch fluid looks like it could be changed. I'm in the same ballpark on miles so been thinking about this too.

This may be of help. 3K_SERVICE.pdf
It was done last year, so I am not sure if any of the part numbers have changed.
