• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I decided to open up the throttle on my RT last week on a deserted highway and was disappointed on how long it took to crack the century mark. Is this the norm for RTs because of the throttle by wire? I remember my GS was not this way.

Extra weigh, Extra frontal area, A few less HP. I would guess so.

You are pushing a lot more air and a lot more weight. Just be glad you got it over 100, all I could get with a trailer was 96.

I have to live vicariously through the misdeeds of others... :2thumbs:
I'm glad that the LEOs were getting their fill of Krispy Kremes at the time! :D
(No insult intended Guys!) I just thought that Krispy Kremes needed a mention here... ;)

Love those Krispy Creams!

I also go higher speeds vicariously through the feats of others. I believe I hit 90 once on :spyder2:.

:2thumbs: Nothing like five or six of them with the first pot of coffee of the day to brighten your outlook... :D

(The only time I ever pinned my ears back and gave it a WFO run, it got to dancing, and I gor to crapping myself and grabbing the brakes! :opps:)

They will abso-freakin-lutely have to; At least if my avoirdupois gets any higher! :2thumbs:
I'll also need more air in the tires... :opps:

Just look at you. Retired one week, and already a hulligan . I hit 100 on the 10 fwy with no problem at all, oh wait, I have a RS.

I am waiting for my "exempt from the speed limit laws of the state of Florida" card to come in the mail before I open her up all the way!

:congrats: on hitting the century mark on your Spyder. Glad to hear you didn't get a ticket. I also love Krispy Kreme! :D

This is a hoot! Back in the day we were thrilled when we could get any motorcycle to do an honest "ton". Now we are sad when it takes more than a city block for a machine the size of a small garage to get up to speed...LOL. How times change! :joke:

Yep, You just have to know someone who's on the ''Job'' ;);)
:yikes: I have quite a few friends who are NYS Troopers... I would never DARE ask them to put a "gun"on any of my rides and see what they'll do...
If something horrible went wrong... their jobs are on the line and frankly... I ain't worth that! :D

You're absolutely right Scotty! We also seem to feel as if we need the largest, heaviest, most technology-laden piece of mechanized excess to haul ourselves plus the kitchen sink PLUS a trailer with the neighbor's kitchen sink across the country... Remember when folks went from NY to LA on Vespas??

?

Not a gun ;Agetoutajail card.

BOB, I hope that was at 2 AM between Banning and Palm Springs and not rush hour in Redlands.

Nope, on the way to Canyon Cruise II. Remember back in April? Only kept that speed for about 3 seconds to see if I could do it. I think I could have gone faster, but tickets at that speed are WAY too much. Have you ever done 100 on your RS, and if so, how much different did it feel?

I went 115 on Ntl Trails Hwy (Rte 66) between Helendale and Hodge. It had more but I didn't. Pucker Power started setting in.

I hear ya on the tickets bro.Back in '76 I was cited for reckless driving going UP Cajon Pass racing another guy at 110 mph in a Ford PU. Should have been hauled in for a DUI but I wasn't tested. I was SO dumb and stupid in those days. I thank God I never physically hurt anybody.

I don't drink (much) anymore and never drive when I had anything to drink. I still like the feel of speed once in awhile but never in the presence of traffic, much less the CHP. I must be getting ... old.
