• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. 100,000 Miles

Wow, this is impressive!

did you keap track of your maintenance cost to acheive 100000 miles?

what was needed to be done and at what milages approx...!

thanks
Marty:congrats::thumbup:

I think the tracking of mileage has been totally messed up in many ways-- mostly due to BRP making some big mistakes.

1. No clarification on Miles vs. Kilometers for pins (can we apply for both?)
2. Odometer can't count above 100,000 Kilometers.
3. If the cluster is changed the mileage is back to zero, but somehow BUDDS can still read actual bike miles.

On top of that, Walt had the fire - not his fault.

I also recall Nickcaro getting some guff because he's had some engine rebuilds or replacements--- again - not his fault.

All that being said-- anyone putting the kind of mileage that Doc, Nick, Walt and Lamont are putting on Spyders certainly deserves recognition.

:congrats: to all of you high-mileage ryders!

I am going to get a lot of flak for saying Spyders are like Harleys.:shemademe_smilie:
Hey, I resembled that remark on the Chicago trip. I had a nice oil trail leading from Fl to NC...LOL
Got it fixed before I left NC for Chicago though.:2thumbs::2thumbs:

First of all, congratulations Walt, I wish I had nothing but time for spyder riding but the real world has a tendency to interfere. My day will come though. In the mean time I can live vicariously through your miles. :D

It doesn’t...

Dan, BUDDS can only read total hours not miles. Trust me, this is coming from someone that is on her third cluster. I had to write down original miles off each cluster to keep accurate track of miles. I have seen my spyder hooked up to BUDDS, only the hours show up as a total for the lifetime of the machine. Not sure why.

Ahh--- okay--- well that is even worse than I thought.....

Kind of scary that the cluster can be swapped out and you're back to zero--- an unscrupulous person could really take advantage of that for resale.

Yes and No, your odometer reading may be at zero, but your are going to have a hard time explaining 700 hours with no miles.

:agree: Those who have been able to rack up these kind of numbers deserve the recognition. Who cares how many :spyder2: it took, you still rode that many miles. :congrats:

Golly.... I guess I can count all of my rides over the years, including caged one's.. :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack:

How about this....if your ECM is replaced, your 'hours' revert to zero. I had 200 hours on the original one. Now with the new one having around 50 hours on it, and 7000 miles on the cluster my average speed works out to 140 mph!:D

:agree: Let me see, I went though 4 VWs Commuting into Manhattan 35 + years approximately 780 thousand miles total,
I should get one of the copper plates from the Statue of Liberty for a Pin.:roflblack:

Come on get real only one Spyder, you can't piggyback the miles:(
[you can use a new rope]

Deb: The engine hour meter stops working at 1070.9 hours. It stays frozen there forever. The trip hour meter resets to zero and stays frozen. It would be great if the ECM "brain" had the real total hours. I kind of doubt it. Let's see what your ECM reads after you reach 1070.9 hours.

Walt, that may not matter anyway, they took some reading off of BUDDS and sent them to BRP, there may be some things going wrong with my ECM. Hope to find out some time this week.
