• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

100,000 Miles

Let's see what your ECM reads after you reach 1070.9 hours.
Something like this: :yikes::D

Well, this has turned into a real "belly-button" thread. Each of us has a different (fairly strong) opinion...just like we have belly-buttons. :D In the end, as with all things of this nature, it is strictly up to the sanctioning organization to decide how they want to do things. No matter what we any of us thinks is fair, no matter how we would do it if we had a choice, BRP has chosen the method and proof that they wanted to. It is their playground, and it is their choice. Did you ever wonder why so few organizations do something like this? Could they be trying to avoid such controversy?

In the meantime, we should all applaud every one of the high mileage riders, no matter how they got there. To do this in any way at all, in the very short time the Spyder has been on the road, is truly an amazing accomplishment!!! My hat is off to Walt, and Doc, and Nick...and to all those others who have ridden tens of thousands of miles on Spyders. Folks like you have proven the breed, and have given the rest of us something to shoot for. You are all #1 in my book! :firstplace: :firstplace: :firstplace:

We should be sure SpyderGene sees this before he tries to do another "poker" game at the Missouri SpyderFest. :D :D :D

No flak from me! I ride a 105th Road King and my wife rides a Spyder, and I've learned to love the Spyder. Until I get a few more months on my triple bypass, I'll be riding my wife's Spyder and my KawW650.
You're right, Doc. But, look at it this way - I didn't put 500,000 plus miles on just one Harley.;) The most I ever put on a single Harley was 160,000 miles. Spyders are becoming like Harleys - it is normal to have a succession of Spyders. In my case, I didn't have a choice. However, there would have been a RT in my future without the fire. Unfortunately, the RT is still in the future.

I am going to get a lot of flak for saying Spyders are like Harleys.:shemademe_smilie:
