I crossed the 100,000 mile threshold today. As far as I know, I am only the second Spyderlover to do this. Nickcaro was the first.
I crossed the 100,000 mile threshold five times as a Harley rider, but only once as a Spyder rider. I doubt there is enough time left to do four more “crossings” as a Spyder rider. I feel confident I will get at least one, and maybe two, more Spyder “crossings”.
I am feeling pretty good and I love to ride. I am not married and I do not work. This gives me the freedom to do just about anything I want to do, with the timing of my own choosing. Combine this with a great passion for motorcycle riding and you get lots of miles and lots of hotel stays.
The Spyder miles were recorded as follows:
2008 Spyder GS SM5 = 36,500 miles (burned on May 4, 2009). 2009 Spyder GS SM5 = 63,500 miles (62,137 + 1,363). Total = 100,000 miles. This is equivalent to 160,934 kilometers.
On the GS and RS Spyders, the odometer resets to zero at 100,000 kilometers which is 62,137 miles. It is kind of spooky to see this happen. Your brain tells you something is not right.
